For some reason now every time I wear foundation it looks gross. Like it will looks really wierd and splotchy on my nose and forehead. It's never ever done this before and I haven't switched foundations or anything and my skin is pretty good, I moisturize and everything and use a primer. And when I try to rub in the splotchy areas it looks worse and ends up a big mess and I want to cry because my makeup is ruined and I just don't even want to go anywhere lol. Please help I don't know how to fix it.

Have you switched moisturiser or primer? Stop rubbing in the foundation and try to use a patting or bouncing motion when applying it for an even finish. What kind of a brush are you using to put it on?

No I haven't seized any products. I use my fingers I know bad lol but it's never caused problems before

Hmmmmm... I'm not sure why its changed, but I'd recommend getting a brush just so that its not splotchy anymore. I'd recommend a stippling brush, a sponge, a flat top kabuki, or the one I use is an expert face brush (by real techniques). I like to pour/ pump the foundation onto a blank cd (obviously sterilized) and dip the brush in that and use that patting/ bouncing method to get everything even and blended. It will feel like it takes forever until you get used to it, but it gives much better results and much more control of the way it looks and the coverage of the foundation (I think) than using a normal foundation brush or swiping and rubbing. :) hope this helps you.

Thanks Caitriona! I will definitely look into some brushes and try it that way :))

You also need to make sure you exfoliate at least once a week

A primer will help makeup smooth onto your face and not cling to dry patches. Plus it will last all day!

I exfoliate twice a week and always use primer :)

The neutrogena skin clearing did the same thing to me. I switched to Revlon colorstay & make-up forevers HD. I think it's because that foundation can be alittle bit too drying.

Maybe change your foundation or try using lotion as a face primer :)

I understand I have the same problem. so I just stopped using foundation because I don't really need it and because I didn't know how to fix the problem.

What primer are you using with this foundation? and what is your skin type? this helps give better feed back and it's not always your skin routine it just could be the two products of the primer & foundation Not agreeing together.

You need to use something else to exfoliate. I always use a clarosnic. Use a beauty blender and a new foundation...it may be that the foundation was already old when purchased it can happen.

Also the type if primer may not be the right primer for your foundation

I am just really getting into makeup and how to do it correctly. I don't use primer when I guess I should. but I have sensitively light skin type

Thanks ladies:) I Use all Neutrogena products: moisturizer, primer, foundation and powder. That's what I've always used and it's never looked this wierd until recently. I think I will look into a sponge or brush for applying :) hopefully that will fix the problem. Thanks for all your advice chicas;)

You don't always have to use a primer I rarely ever use a primer and my foundation always looks great.

It's the healthy skin primer I've been using it for a long time.
