So if you lovely ladies and gents could post outfit ideas (and if you recommend online shops or give me links that be great to) I would appreciate it!

80s is basically the same as what we wear now...think high waisted jeans, bright sneakers, bright shirts (crop top optional), door knocker earrings and hair in high half ponytails with scrunchies. That's about it :)

Essentially nothing in my closet. xD Thank you! This could be an excuse for me to buy a new pair of converse.

Lol me either, the 80s is not my spirit era. Have fun though, sounds like a blast!

80's wasnt only colorful, you can also go for a very rocker look, because the 80's was also a time when metal started getting popular:)

As much as fashion would like everyone to think..it was rare to see girls in converse..and they came in very few colors. They were not even sized for females and only select sporting good stores sold them. Neon was big as was layering socks and tees...lots of off the shoulder tunics tied at the bottom..skin tight jeans...flats..keds style shoes...checkered Vans were big as well. Then you had the fingerless lace gloves, bangles, huge earings and abstract patterns. Big hair..perms..ugh...lol..lotta poodles and ponytails..barrettes and headbands. Tough girls did the Pat Benatar or Joan Jett or wore Levis with a bandana in the pocket or around the ankle..some on the thigh. Pumas were big back then. Cyndi Lauper is another fun fashion icon with skirts and layers..tutus..multicolored hair and lots of jewelry. Leggings were super popular too. with stirrups. Madonna crowd had lots of hair bows, lace and pearls.

I'd watch clips from the Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles or Pretty In Pink. They had some style goin' on!

P.S. In the later 80's low top Black cons were popular with goths and tomboys..often paired with a long skirt..usually black..and a loose sweater.

I LOVE the Breakfast Club more than anything, so I'm a bit biased, but I think the styles the girls wear in that movie are perfect. Be prepared for outfit spam, haha.

Sorry if this wasn't what you were looking for, haha. I loathe the whole neon trend that dominated the 80s, and I don't really think that the outfits that are commonly worn to mimic that era are very wearable. Pieces from these outfits are pretty versatile & you could get a lot of use out of everything separately.
