I want to try whitening my teeth with baking soda and peroxide. I saw a post on Pinterest and so I bought baking soda and peroxide and then was told by a friend it would ruin my enamel as it exfoliates, is this true? Would it be any more damaging than commercial whitening products?

I asked my dentist about this. She said no on the baking soda, but to simply swish hydrogen peroxide (3%) for 10 seconds before brushing your teeth. Safe for enamel and you should see results within a week or two!
