So, it's been a while since I've posted on here! I have changed my hair a lot since my profile pic. Sadly and regretfully, I cut my hair. My stylist did not use the two photos I had as reference or my direction as to the length I wanted, and cut it way too short, so that was bad enough that I have hair to my shoulders now.
BUT, the real issue is that I was bored of the golden blonde that I had, because for whatever reason unbeknownst to me, I thought my hair looked like hay, and decided I needed to do an ash blonde color because the tones would match my light complexion. Well, I admit now that I should have not done this. Now my coworkers (and myself) agree that my hair looks gray. So now I feel like I have short, gray, old lady hair. :o
I need help with ANY advice on taking out the gray-purple undertone- I have googled, youtubed, you name it- and cannot find any help for this. Does Sally's have a corrector I can use? Or can I dye my hair a light cool blonde to lift if up a shade or two? HELP! :D

Ash fades very quickly, and there are color depositing shampoos that can add a bit of orange. I wouldn't color it though, and be careful since it will still change. Try a clarifying shampoo a few times, and see what happens when it's dry! Good luck!

Maybe the flash and or the lighting but I don't think it looks gray at all...I don't think it looks bad either.

Yup. Gray blonde lol. Well I just did this yesterday so I didn't want to wash my hair yet, because it is squeaky clean and when I over-shampoo it becomes oily. But I do own purple shampoo so I will try that tomorrow and see if it helps over the next week. Thanks ladies!

I see what you mean to! You can use some vitamin C to get the dye out (look into I think you crush the tablets and make like a mask out of it) purple shampoo might not help this case since its ment to cancel out orange not ashy colors.

I actually really like how your hair looks I think it looks really pretty but that probably wasn't what you were trying to achieve lol but I like it :)

Chamomile tea brings out the warm tones in hair so try to just spray that in your hair. I've tried lemon juice but all it ever did was dry my hair out.

Try to remove the purple gray tones and then use a toner of a blonde shade you want.

Mary, I was thinking the same thing the more I thought about it. Purple shampoo is made to counterbalance the warm red undertones, which I no longer have...I do own that lightening spray you posted! :) Just haven't used it yet lol it's been sitting on my bathroom counter for about 2 months now...at least at this point I have a real reason to try it out!
Aw thanks Brianna :D I think in the beginning, I overreacted and now it's not as bad looking at it. Still going to try to remove the ash a bit though.
You guys are all so awesome for your advice. I appreciate all of the help. :D

That john Frieda thing fried my hair. I do not recommend it. It will destroy your hair leaving you in a worse position. I would say just purple shampoo for like 4 minutes then see how that does
