I've never used concealer before, is do you buy it by skin color or does any shade matter?

Slightly darker than skin color. You can use diff colors for diff things you want to cover up. Green covers red, but you don't want to use that for pimples and blemishes because it actually will make it stand out more. Kandee Johnson explains that in one of her videos. I use green sometimes around my nose but I rarely use colors. The trick if that's what you want to do is opposites on the color wheel.
