Whaaat?! I'm really confused... I feel like your foundation would look stupid on you with the opposite undertone. Hmm.

The first part is true , since I have a yellow under time I'm an NC 40. Idk about the correcting part.

It's true. It's reversed in MAC. NW is cool toned and NC is warm toned. I don't know why it's like that but it just is.

Yup. The lady said "You're an NC37" when I knew I had warm undertones. MAC just loves to be difference I guess.

No wonder I'm NC42 and I'm warmed tone but it matches my skin perfectly.

Maybe test both on and just choose whichever you like better:)

Well an NC is for warm tones and NW is for cool tones. I think the shade naming is just an older way? I mean I've read older books on makeup and if you had more yellow tones they'd use a more pink toned foundation and if someone had more pink tones then they'd use a yellow toned foundation to "neutralize" the skin. So perhaps they labeled the warm toned foundation NC (neutral cool) for those with cool undertones so that it'll neutralize the pink tone and vise versa. So basically it's backwards. NC is more yellow and NW is more pink
