I feel that to be a nurse you should be able to pull it back in a ponytail. Of course, that's just my opinion, but If you think you can cut it short and still easily keep it out of your face, then go for it. I will admit, short hair is lighter and easier to manage, but harder to style. Be aware of that if it's something you're seriously considering.

Pomade is so heavy! Honestly, for the little baby hairs I either use Maybelline Great Lash Clear or John Frieda Full Repair hair mascara. That or a headband, always does the trick. Also, try braiding your hair across your hairline, it picks up all the baby hairs so they don't stand straight up (mine stand straight up, and it's hell).
