What do you think of stretched ears? If you have them, can you tell me how to get them? Like step by step? Can I pull them off?

I don't think there's anything wrong with stretched ears. I wouldn't personally stretch mine. But if you want go for it! My friend stretched her ears out. She would go up sizes for the gauges. She would get a size that was a tiny bit bigger and waited until her ear stretched bigger. And repeated this processes. Not sure if that's how it's suppose to be done, but goodluck. :)

Ughh, yes they smell no matter how good you keep them clean. I would never strech mine, but if you want go for it. you buy the gages from the smallest to larrgest on how big you want to go.

Personally I don't like stretched ears very much, it doesn't look very tasteful and it seems really painful as well. If you want to make the commitment, by all means go agead.

Wth...mine do not smell! if they smell its time to take a shower. mine are relatively small though. had them for years. to get them you need to be patient. scartissue, nasty smells, ripping and cutting are all signs of you doing it too fast. it should not b painful, but slightly uncomfortable. usually the smell is caused by normal bacteria and tissue fluids combined. tissue fluid is the clear to yellowish colour fluid. no blood in it.

I'm my opinion stretched ears aren't the worst but their definitely NOT the best. I've never has stretched ears (gages) before but I know & seen people who have and it doesn't look that bad it's just something I wouldn't want. But, if you want 'Gages' it's up too you (and your parents, I'm assuming, unless you live alone) it's your choice. If you think you can pull them off and want them go for it. It could be something you will LOVE or something you will REGRET.

I've had streached ears for 6 years and I love them. they only smell bad if you doing clean them. I have my ears double pierced so I can have gauges and normal ear rings. my favorite ones right now are these galaxies gauges. if you want to start you need to buy tapers or cresents. start with?the larger numbers and work your way up. a normal ear ring size is around 20. you can but sets on Amazon for around 5-10 dollars. good luck!

Thank you guys! I think I'm going to go for it. So you just start with tapers? How long between switching sizes?

You usually know when your ear is ready to go up a size. I don't recommend skipping sizes just because there is a higher chance of a blowout or ripping. It tends to take about a month for ears to completely heal after stretching up a size. I recommend jojoba oil to help with the actual stretching. You just put it on the taper and slide it in your ear. I've had friends who did it in the bath because soaking your ear before stretching helps the taper go in easier. I hope I helped! :)

Both my wife & I have them! Mine are 1/2inch & hers are 1 inch. The bigger you go the less they smell. Hers never smell and mine rarely smell. Btw they only smell randomly and that's when you take out the earring. You don't just walk around with funky ears. Lol. I LOVE the way they look. 😝 & I for sure don't regret it. The only thing is we both went up in size extremely quick so I know mine hurt like terribly during the process. I would suggest taking your time when you size up and don't try to skip too many sizes at a time. The easiest way is to uses tapers while your sizing up & if you want you can switch to plugs once you're at your desired size. If you put them in right after or during a shower your ears will be softer. Alsoooo. We both work in hospitals and have never had problems with our jobs/getting jobs. When I've had interviews I just wear simple plugs. :)

I personally have stretched ears! they're kinda small, 5mm but it takes a while to get them. First stretch every 3-4 weeks or whenever your ears heal. don't skip sizes, it doesn't matter how much you want to stretch lol. I like my ears a lot although my parents may not like it we've agreed on a size. Also make sure to clean them daily (I prefer salt water, peroxide dries my ears out and I don't recommend it) and then I massage my lobes with jojoba oil. Ask a piercer or someone with bigger lobes for more info, that's all I've got lol. hope this helps (: p.s. basically anybody can pull them off, it just happens that I find that people with detached lobes look a bit strange after an inch. just my opinion :)

Also use a taper to stretch for smaller sizes and put in jewelry after, don't leave the taper in for more than a couple of hours because your ears can sag more due to the uneven weight distribution. Use steel or any type of sterilized metal to stretch and once your lobes heal then put any plugs you'd like.

Pic honestly don't like it. I think it looks trashy and it's a permanent decision. You won't ever get your normal ears back. Plus whenever I'm around ppl with stretched ears it stinks. It will unless you take good care.

Trashy is kind of a harsh word. But to each his own of course & It's not exactly permanent. Depending on how large you go it can shrink back to normal size. Just an FYI. ;)

You can get sergery of they are really big, and I do know of people that their eyes smell. maby they just don't clean them. and yeah I wondt call them trashy, cause lots of people look great in them.

Several friends of mine have plugs, but they are in the beauty industry. My buddy got large gauges..stretching the ear and could not find work outside of labor jobs. He ended up having them removed and even with surgery..his ears look crazy jacked. My advice would be..for now..stay small. It's not something easily rectified.
Miranda, knowing others here have gauges and enjoy them, it is entirely inappropriate to dismiss them as trashy.

I like them, as long as they're small, but that's just my opinion. I can see myself getting VERY small ones in the future, but once I have a steady job, and am settled down. I plan on being either a teacher or a actor, and ear gauges aren't really going to help me get either of those jobs.

I was at a double zero and mine closed down to original piercing size, and even if they only close down to an 8-6 the hole is practically undetectable and looks normal. I feel like people over exaggerate that a lot. They also won't smell if you do it properly and keep them clean, the only time you may notice a bit of a smell is when you change your plugs after having them in for a while, but if you never tear the hole it won't smell.
1. Get a taper kit, I think they come with metal tapers from 16g to 0g if I remember correctly, but the tapers are what will ease your ears into the new sizes, they're the ones that look like little cones.
2. Start with the smallest one, and it should slide in with ease, no this does not mean you can size up it means you've stretched to a size your ears were comfortable with. That's a common mistake people do, they rush their ears. If it Ever hurts even slightly to upsize stop, and try again in a week or two. Skipping sizes or upsizing too fast causes trauma in the muscle and causes tearing, thinned lobes, crusty lobes, blowouts, and inability to
Close itself. Adding on to that you should wait 4-6 weeks before sizing up but it could take longer depending on your ear.
3. Continue to upsize until you reach your desired size, don't buy any nice plugs till you're sure you wanna stop stretching because it's a waste of money.
Once you're stuck on a size buy plugs instead of tapers because they don't weight down your ears as much.
Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have on my profile and I'll be sure to get back to you :)

There are a lot of job opportunities for people with body modifications, stretched ears are usually one of the minor ones as long as they're kept clean. They do get an odor so just clean them every day
