I lLOVE BLACK LIPSTICK! It's seriously one of my favorite lippie colors! I don't own a full black lippie (very close vampy purple, but not quite) but I still love it so so much! I don't think it's a mistake as long as you wear it right! Balance out the black with some black eyeliner and full black lashes! Or add some color!

I don't like it on MYSELF because I have small lips and the black makes it worse, but I think some people can pull it off quite effortlessly

I LOVE it! (I don't own one though) I don't think it works on everyone. But I do think girls with full lips can pull it off.

I love how black lipstick looks on me, now I just need to find a formula that doesn't crease and feather after a few minutes. I felt so pretty & comfortable with foundation, mascara & the lipstick. It makes such a dramatic statement if everything else is "bare", plus it makes my lips look phenomenal.

I love it, I just don't know how to style it properly without looking too gothic.

I don't think my raving comment posted, so I'll rewrite what I had.
I love black lipstick. I have a Wet N Wild one but the formula is terrible & it's impossible to apply due to its super dry texture. If anyone has suggestions about decent black lippies, I'd appreciate it. Anyways, I think that?berly dark lips look gorgeous and classy. I did my mouth up with black eyeliner and gloss once & fell in love. It made my lips look phenomenal. I think it looks best with minimal makeup elsewhere (just foundation & mascara).

There are no such things as "beauty mistakes" beauty is an art form. A tool for self expression. I hate when people are like "oh no you made a beauty mistake"

I agree with Bryanna, for the most part. I mean, I consider basic stuff like cakey foundation, clumpy eyelashes, and drawn-on brows "makeup mistakes," but other than that, I think makeup should be about self expression.

I guess I'm the minority here because I absolutely hate black lipstick. I think of goth and satanism when I see someone where black lipstick, but then again I think my outlook came from society and movies when I was younger.

I love black lipstick but it totally depends on lip shape, glossiness, and skin tone.

Personally, black lipstick is one of my ultimate failures... I think it looks too... I don't know.

I don't think black lipstick its a mistake, but is are very hard to pull off tough. not everyone can look great with such a bold lipstick.

Whoa, just noticed this. MacKenzie, I don't really mind, but please ask me or let me know first next time. As you all can tell, I'm a fan of black lipstick, but I think that a lot of people aren't because they don't know what to do with it. It's a bit tricky, do have to know how to pull it off and what to pair it with, but once you've got that down I think that anyone could rock it. (I actually got a lot of suggestions on how to better the look in that photo, which I'm going to try out this week, maybe tomorrow depending upon my mood.)

I love black lipstick against pale skin because the contrast is fabulous. I wear it with heavy makeup on my eyes. If my lipstick is a mistake than I just will be a train wreck all the time.

I think black lipstick is perf, but not on really pale ladies. It kinda just makes you look like a goth. But if worn right, it can look fab :)

Black lipstick reminds me of Sheeva from Mortal Kombat haha. I personally don't like it but I've seen drag queens that make it work because they go very out-there with the rest of the makeup. I try and avoid dark lipsticks as they can make the lips look smaller and make some look older
