I don't know if this will help very much..lol but I use frost tips and I get it from walmart or walgreens. Its a highlighting kit but once you mix it up you can put it all over. I have very dark hair (ive got indian in me) and I use these all the time. It takes two ir three times if dying it for me to get the bleach blonde instead of yellow. :) hope I helped atleast alittle.

You need to put a tonner in to take away the brassy/yellow color. I always buy from Sally's, they have a few different types s depending on the color of blonde your going for. Also, if your paying to get it done at a salon and they aren't following through I would not be paying for the services.

Going under the dryer won't make you blonder, it'll fry your hair more! I agree with Stephanie. Buy a purple toner! It'll take out the brassy tones. I personally like Wella's white lady.

I agree with Lisa W. on Wella toners. I would be a little careful because, If I'm not mistaken, I use the same one to achieve a grey/violet look. They are under new names and I use T18-Lightest Ash blonde which I'm fairly certain used to be White Lady. Its a very ashy blonde color! I have super light bleached hair, so it may show up the way you want if your hair isn't super light. But if you want something a bit brighter, warmer, and "beachier" I would check out the Wella Color Charm swatches for a better fit. You can find them online or in the Sally's store. The great thing about seeing them in the store is you can read of they are blue, violet, or blue-violet based colors, which will help you pick out the right tone for you.

You need to tone your hair for sure. However, not everyone's hair can achieve the pale "bleach blonde" look. Mine stops lifting at a gross yellow then fries off. I would talk to a stylist you trust to get his/her opinion if its realistic for you to strive for this level of blonde.

Go to the salon, lighten it gradually.
