So I apply primer before my makeup but it doesn't seem to do anything... It'll start to go all oily and my powder will run off and it becomes sticky like 2 hours later or earlier.. It's annoying I just don't know what to do!

Try a new primer. Like a matte finish primer. Do you use a finishing spray? If not, go get one, I think it will help.

Maybe apply an oil free moisturiser first, then only use a small amount of primer. Your primer may just be too oily for your skin- try Make Up Forever HD Primer or Smashbox. I know they help keep the skin matte and last all day

I've been liking Boots No7?Beautifully Matte Make Up Base. I bought mine at Target but I think Walgreens may also cary it. Just make sure you apply a moisturizer beforehand.

I only use the Rimmel primer in the winter when my skin Is really dry, maybe try a different primer if you have oily skin?

I would try both a diffrent primer and makeup. For primers I love, Benefit Porefessionals, Prime Time, Too Faced Primed and Poreless, Smashbox, and Nyx

I'd try a higher end brand. I don't feel like drugstore primers are very advanced yet, they still are a pretty new product for most of the drugstore brands I think. I use Hourglass Veil Mineral primer. It's really the only primer I've liked enough to actually buy. It's pricey but the travel size is much cheaper to start out with or you can try to get a sample of it.

Its probably just the quality of the primer I use the embroylisse moisturizer/primer and it is absolutely magic. My friend uses the new stay matte one from them and she loves it. It also could be the primer plus what foundation you're using. Often times the two products you use can have clashing bases which cause the makeup to run and become sticky. Make sure the products you are using are oil free. If anything it may simply be that the primer is oil based and the foundation is water based or vice versa which can cause similar problems. Just in case I would always carry a little makeup bag with a translucent powder and makeup wipes just in case the situation gets too bad.

@Jacqueline H: Thanks for mentioning Embrolisse Hydro Mat! I was looking for a new moisturizer and this sounded like an awesome product that would suit my needs. I did some research and was poised to fork over $40 for this until this morning I happened to find it on Hautelook for $28! I can't wait to try this.

The other primer I also like is the Hourglass Mineral Veil. A little goes a long way so I recommend buying the small/travel size first.
