I agree with needing a backup dress! Renttherunway has designer dresses for rent for real cheap! You get to chose 2 sizes as well!

I have had reasonably okay experiences with online shopping for formal dresses. The two key things are to check the returns policy and understand that the dress is unlikely to look like it does on the site.

Definitely check out the sites reviews (google, not on the same site ordering, because they might have fake reviews)
