I got a facial a week ago and the lady used microdermabrasion on my face. I have acne and have heard that microdermabrasion is really great at improving your skin but my skin has gotten a lot worst during the week!
Is this normal? Please tell me if you have acne and your experiences with the microdermabrasion. Did it help?

Hi Christie! I have been on a Microdermabrasion facial since 3 years and no, it doesn't cause acne.

It's quite possible that any one of the products she used could have caused acne? Did she only use microdermabration or were there other products involved as you may have had a reaction to any one of them. Also are you sure it was down to the facial, is it possible that the acne was caused by a change in diet or a hormonal change and that it was just a coincidence that it happened at the same time as the facial. I really hope you find what caused the break out and that your skin heals soon.

Thannks guys! I will monitor my skin's progress. I haven't ever had a facial so I'm guessing it may be the impurities coming out of the skin?? Thanks for the advice though, I'll keep it in mind :)

Did you get some sort of massage done after dermabrasion? How about face mask? Both of those steps are important after the Microdermabrasion process is finished.

Yes, she did use a purifying mask and massage it into my face after the microdermabrasion.

My practitioner uses a deep clean purifying mask too, thdn pure aloe gel massage, I always make double sure their hands are sanitized so I don't break out, I am obsessive lol.

Hi! This actually happened to me
Basically if you have active acne microdermabrasion can irritate the acne you already have and also can spread bacteria around your face :/

Oh okay..I did have a couple active pimples. Did your skin improve from the treatment at all though?
