My hair got super damaged after I dyed it ombré and my hair literally broke from the bottom so I got my tips chopped off and now my hair is about chin length all around. I purchased some 16 inch extensions but it looks so weird... Kinda mullet like hAhaha :( what are some good tips to blend in or even layer ? Pleases help !!

I had the same problem. all I did was the next time I got my hair cut I asked her not to cut it on a straight edge so it wouldn't show. if you curl your hair they blend in a little better(:

I have been wearing extensions/ sew ins for about 8 years now. My best suggestion would be to add the extensions from the top of your hair down, that way you will have a nice blended look. You can also cut the hair in layers too to help create a natural effect. Option two would be to braid your hair in the middle leaving some hair out on the bottom and sewing your extensions in. You can get needle and thread from your local beauty supply for less than $3. Hope this helps! 😝

Same thing happened to me a few years ago with waist long hair! Ombré, chin length, everything, so I feel your pain. I now wear extensions and have been since then... I bought two sets of extensions because I had the mullety problem... dispersing more clip ins throughout my hair made it look fifty jillion times better, I kid you not. I didn't think my haircut mattered when I first started wearing them, but I eventually figured out that having my ends thinned out and getting my extensions cut to blend into my hair made a huge difference. When my hair got longer, I started wearing a 14" set, an 18" set and my shoulder length hair without getting them cut to blend, and it just looked like long layers, but not as good as having someone style your hair with them in. So having a length gradient really helps. Good luck!

Thanks Miranda ! I do find curling easier to blend but I have super straight hair so it's hassle to do that all the time .

Natalie that idea sounds great ! I don't have thick hair to begin with so I feel like its super hard to already make my head look like a bratz doll

Where do you girls start parting your hair to insert the clips ? The closest I can get is like an inch above my ear but even then my head looks like a bratz doll ?

I start below my ears... My head is not quite wide enough but I tease my hair just for the first two (shortest) wefts that fit below the top of my ears and the teasing creates a little more surface area to work with. I also have the two sets, so I use the two smallest ones there, so it helps. It'll probably be better if you start it around there if you have just one set, but if you get another, you can try starting down further. I just make sure I start where my last wefts are going to end up about 2 inches below the top of my hair. Once you practice it will become so much easier for you, you'll get the hang of it in no time! It's just a matter of playing around (make sure to take a mirror and check what the sides and back of your hair look like too). Also, when I've only had one set, I've done half up half down, modern 60s bouffant styles, or just pin it up kinda messy. Doing "up do" type styles helps you practice how to put them in your hair and gives you length without having to worry about blending, so that's usually how I get acquainted with a new set of extensions... Hope a few of these things can help =)

if you layer the extensions a little bit it looks more natural. that Is if you don't mind cutting your extensions

go to a professional I would suggest u to get layers and tell the hair stylist to blend the last two in blending the layers will help frame and blend ur length with the extensions!
