Hi, so I used Ion Color Brilliance Brights in teal.. I had it for a good two months. My roots grew out quickly so I went to the hair salon. They used color remover , bleach , and two nasty brown dyes. Now I have a vomit-worthy brown and teal. I plan on changing my hair to get away from this tomorrow (It's been a week since the salon visit). What colors would work? I really don't want to go black even really red. From the ear up , my hair looks gorgeous ( not a hint of teal ). Could I possibly do a reverse ombre? The blonde going into a really dark brown? ( blonde being the non teal top of my hair ) Or would a red or black be necessary? Please help haha this is disgusting xD.

I'm not a hair dying expert so I can't really answer your question that well. just from my own experience having red hair washed out after like a week, I was so disappointed. it's a very hard colour to keep without fading

Okay I had teal from the same brand. I personally did color oops which did nothing. The only way to get rid of the mess that is color ion teal is Bleaching and not just one round, I did mine 4 times and I can still see teal. I ended up cutting most of my hair off because it was so fried. Now if you want to avoid fried hair I would ask the lovely ladies in the long hair community since I'm not one for holding onto hair. Now to fix it without bleach I don't know of this would work but using a warm toned corrector or dye since it would counteract the blue hopefully.

I had part of my bangs that same color with that same brand. I did a few bleach baths until it was a lighter green. I didn't want to full on bleach it because I didn't want to damage my bangs much more than I already had. After it was a light green I dyed my hair a golden brown and I couldn't see any green or anything.

Go to a color corrector expert. Just google color correction hair salons (your city here) and go get a professional opinion. I had used the same teal and it stained my hair to the point where I bleached it and bleach bathed it twice and it didn't come out, I used baking soda and ACV, which left my hair minty green and used a blonde dye to go over it, it lightened it a bit but it was still green. I went to a color corrector expert and they said basically the only thing they could do is dye it darker and hope that the stain eventually comes out, or they could bleach the living hell out of it until it came out. I opted for going darker (purple). But they could have gone over with an auburn brown in the salon and gotten rid of an ash green tones. Usually a consult with these experts are free, I went to 4 places before making a decision and didn't pay a penny to them.

Your best option would be to wash your hair and the colour in it out as much as you can, if you really want to go brown what I would do personally is lighten my hair and dye it brown again rather than putting dye after dye over it and the colour not changing.

Unnatural colors are made from vegetable dyes, which is why you're having such a hard time doing anything to it. Like the others said, you will probably have to go much darker or chop some off in order to get rid of it immediately.

Red will either make it purple or dooddoo brown from experience. Teal can be a toughy, especially Ions. Use hot water and clarifying shampoo to fade it, or even hot water and baking soda- it opens up the follicles so the color bloods out, then when it's nice and faded use a 20 or 30 volume depending on how hard it sticks.

Make sure if you use baking soda that you rinse with apple cider vinegar after to close up the cuticle and restore the ph balance. :)
