You need a really small flat head screwdriver to pop them out. You can use alcohol or heat to loosen the glue and then use the screwdriver to pry it up. There's a lot of you tube vids and blogs how to go about doing it. :)

I love the z palette I'm not a fan of ugly packaging my makeup has to look cute if not I will pimp it up lmfao 😂 I bought the z palette to get ride of some ugly packaging I can't stand the sight of them lol (I liked the colors but the packaging is shit lol) I would suggest getting those metel pans cuz you won't need no more magnets and you can depot things into them (they are big pans have that in mind I thought the where littel and would hold littel product but dam was I wrong the product I put in the pan made it seem like I was hitting pan on it lol) here is a link to a editorial beautylish posted on depoting

You are going to love your Makeup Geek Shadows!
I bought a Z Palette as well to put them in and I really don't like it. It's a great concept, but the palette is literally a piece of cardboard with a magnet bottom. I wish it was made of plastic, especially since I spent $20 on it. I feel like it may break any second. I'm going to invest in a MAC Palette soon which is a lot cheaper. (8 for the palette and 2 for the insert to hold the shadows.)
For depotting, I don't use heat at all. I dip a knife in rubbing alcohol, stick it in the groove between the product and the pan, and it pops right out. The alcohol helps to break down the glue very quickly as opposed to the "melt it" method. 😊

I havent had a problem with mine, its cardboard but its actually pretty sturdy, the clear window on the front is hard plastic one thing though you can't fit domed makeup you would have to get the special domed one for that... You can also always do your own just you tube diy z palette I tried it but it cam out crapy looking not a fan of that lol but it does work if thats what your looking for.

I have no idea if the MAC palette is magnetic. And yes Gen made a good point. I haven't traveled with mine either. I can only imagine what I would look like if I did. The horror!! But definitely check out the MAC palette. If it's not magnetic you can always do the magnets yourself!
