Should I use for dry skin? I am in the process of healing it with moisturizers, but until then, I need to figure out what kind of foundation to stop the crack-y look it gives me on my nose, chin, and fore head.
maybe it is what I am using (whipped foundation oppose to liquid etc.)
or maybe it is the brand? or the TYPE of symptom it's meant for needs to be specific?
I am not sure, that is why I am asking you!!
Note* I use foundation for covering the redness in my skin, not so much acne unless I break out on my chin.

I really love Clinique Even Better with Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer. Others that are good- Laura Mercier Silk Cream Foundation, BareMinerals,
Tarte (broke me out but I liked it), Too Faced (bb cream liquid and just regular foundation; wrong color for me and broke me out, but I loved the way it looked on my dry skin), Makeup Forever HD, Nars Sheer Glow or Matte (depending on what finish you like; good but also broke me out). A lot of people recommend Urban Decay Naked but it just did not work for me, it covered well but up close it looks super cakey on me. Same thing with L'Oreal's True Match Lumi. No matter what though, go ask for samples to test them out.

Thanks!! I had bought a covergirl bb cream just to see what all the fuss was about this new bb cream, but it seemed to be almost watered down.. super silky, with no cover AT ALL, and after just made me look/feel oily.
what's the deal with bb creams?

Liquid works better for dry skin. I use L'oreal true match and personally it doesn't look cakey to me. I apply it with a beauty blender.

What kind of motion works best with the beauty blender?

Well American BB Creams are crap. Asian BB Creams are actually really good though because they do what they say they are, but they are harder to get in America. American BB Creams are only tinted moisturizers with the BB slapped on the bottle. As far as drugstore foundations go, I am done with them. I always try them and they never work. So I stick with higher end, simply because they work better for myself.

I have also found that mineral makeups do work the best for me. And it depends on how you apply any product, I use Sephora's Pro Airbrush #56 for liquid foundation and concealer; and Elf's Kabuki Brush for mineral makeup. My favorite mineral makeup is Merle Norman's (although, you have to go into a store to find it). Make sure you are using a primer too! I love Benefit PoreFessionals, its amazing (try a sample), Maybelline Baby Skin is okay too. Also I forgot to add Benefits (oxygen something is the name) Foundation onto my list earlier.

So what do yu think is more effective, BB cream or traditional liquid foundation.?
what. are the names of the Asian bb. creams?
and I always stayed away from any sort of powder because it defined the cracks in my dry skin, is no real different than compressed in that's factor?

A good bb cream for dry skin is the Skin79 gold label.

Yes loose mineral powder is different than pressed. And if you use the right primer its fine because believe me my skin gets so dry especially in the winter (I've had my face even start bleeding from dryness). Its so much lighter than liquid foundations (if you try the right ones). And no BB creams suck, which is basically what I said. Unless you try an Aisan BB cream. I say just go
for a liquid foundation or an Asian BB cream.

Or a mineral powder.

Will mineral powder alone have coverage?

For me yes. But I still use a primer and concealer underneath for blemishes and dark circles.

A dabbing kind of motion works best with the beauty blender. It makes it look more airbrushed and keeps it from looking streaky.
