Okay so I have dark hair and really want to dye part of it emerald! What I'm thing is part of it emerald (and in doing this in the summer), so that when I go back to school most of the green will have washed out and I will have an ombré sort of thing left. But I have a couple questions, should I dye the undersides of my hair emerald or dip dye it? What is the best brand of hair dye to use (something that will wash out in a few months and obviously carries crazy colors) and also, if I've had a little experience hair dyeing and such, is it the best option to go to a salon, or could I do it from home? Pictures would be wonderful, thanks for your help guys:)

It's kind of an old picture, as now my hair is a little past my collarbones, and it's dark brown to almost black... I really don't take that many pictures of myself I guess? Thanks!

If you don't go to a salon, I'd say the best dye is Punky Colours.

Wow I think it'll look awesome and it'll really bring out your eyes! Not many people do green but I love it! It'll look awesome on you :) I think you should dye the ends, and if you know a friend that has experience dying hair, I would have them help you because salons can be very expensive :)

I would say get your hair lightened at a salon/by a pro, but don't get it dyed at a salon. I have a few friends that have gone to different salons and gotten their hair dyed different unnatural colors, and it NEVER stays as well as when we do it at home. I think doing the underside would be your best bet, I had purple on the underside of my hair for my junior and senior year of highschool and never got tired of it haha! It's MUCH easier to keep up with as well, since you don't see your roots haha. I recommend dyes like Manic Panic, Special Effects, or Directions.
