In a lot of make-up tutorials I see girls use a kohl pencil on their lids as a base for the smokey eye then smudge it and blend it with eyeshadow.
Is it a kohl pencil specially for smokey eyes or I can use any?
And could you please post a pictorial :)

You can use any, I suppose. most people just use kohl pencils because they smudge WAY easier than other eye pencils.

Kohl pencil is easier because its softer amd smudges easier. I don't know if it'd be the same with a regular pencil.

Suntan B. kohl pencils do smudge really well, which makes it easier and more convenient when creating a smokey eye. You could probably get away with using any smudgable liner...Have a marvelous day beauties!

Yup it's because it smudges easily. I use the master smokey eye pencil in black by maybelline, it's not kohl. But it's made for this purpose and it's very easy to use.
