At the moment I'm currently using Garnier BB Cream and L'Oreal Magic Nude foundation. What I've noticed is that both always settles into my pores and fine lines and my skin appears blotchy. I have a rough skin texture by the way.I've never used a face primer before and I'm thinking about trying Too Faced primer but before I spend my money I want opinions.

Absolutely. Benefit, Hourglass and Laura Mercier all make excellent primers. I like Too Faced's lid primers. Nice even finish, hydrates (some) and reduces pores.

Thanks for answering Rozberry. I had a question.. what do you think about Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing primer? Is it ideal for both pores and fine lines?

I think it's good..very smooth and won't set in fine lines. I always moisturize..let it set in a few minutes..then apply my primer. Hourglass in my view is best for both finish and staying power in my view. It never sets in creases and a little goes a very long way. Some people swear by Smashbox, but I think Monostat Chafing gel works just as well if you're looking for the smooth silicone feel in a primer.

I'd go with Hourglass in other words. So good with fine lines and pores. :*

Absolutely makes a difference! If it's settling in lines maybe a new primer is needed. My go to is Smashbox Photo Finish Face Primer.

When using a BB cream you don't need a primer it will unbalance the finish and has for Too Faced primer it's very nice but does not work well with BB cream it will slide off and leave patches of separation of the product. When BB cream are used with foundations it does the same depending on your skin type, it can go bad real quick.  :-)

A primer generally doesn't help on me. I have extremely normal skin and my daily moisturizer is plenty sufficient- and actually adding a primer can sometimes cause my makeup to last a lot less longer. Each person's face is different- try a good daily moisturizer and see what your finish is like and what you would like to change. (I.e. more matte or more glow or more staying power) and you can find your ideal primer (if you need one) from there.
