I purchased the estee lauder double wear foundation , got matched in the store and loved it! Wore it a few more times and loved it even more...but when I looked at in natural light...omg it was a mess! Dark and orange looking :( ugh! Anything I could do to you know...help the color. Thanks! Xoxo.

Add lotion to thin it out.

You could return it and get a lighter shade or mix the one you currently have with a white foundation to lighten it. If those don't work, it could just be that Estée Lauder oxidizes on you & you'd be better suited using a different brand.

You could mix a little liquid highlighter in with it... Also don't put bronzer over it and if all else fails take it back to the store if it's only been a week or two and/or use it for stage makeup or let a friend in theatre who is the same skin tone or lighter than you use it for their stage makeup...

Mix it with a lighter foundation?

Oh and you can also mix it with some foundation that matches you or one that's a little too light... That could help too.

Well, if you can't return it, I would consider getting another Double Wear in a shade slightly lighter than your skintone so you can mix them to get a perfect shade. It may be expensive and too much trouble, but I wouldn't want to mix it with any other brand of foundation or moisterizer for fear of compromising the coverage & the long wear formula. What's the point of buying a long-wearing, full coverage foundation and turning it into a tinted moisterizer that doesn't stay put?

Use a light colored bb cream that's too pale for you, then they will even each other out!! For example, you could try garnier bb cream in color light/medium (it's pale)

Did you pay with a card? Some places allow returns without a receipt by looking you up with the card used. You would need the card and some form of photo ID. Not everywhere does that but it's worth a shot! If not, mix it with a lighter foundation.

It could be oxidising on you, try moisturising and applying a primer and see if that makes a difference, wayne goss has a great video on oxidising foundation you should definitely check it out.
