Anyone know whether you can tell if the make up is fake or genuine. In particular the Naked Palettes 1,2 and 3?

It depends on the seller. I wouldn't trust it if they are located in China cuz they sell lots of knock offs. Otherwise it should state in the description if it's real.

I'm sure there are some real ones but there are a lot of fakes. there are videos on YouTube and blog post that compare the fakes to the real.

It isn't fake! But it doesn't ensure great delivery! You may get a pan crushed. And can't do anything about it! 😔 most make up breaks through delivery!

Youtube how to tell a fake from a real one. They have some really great videos out there. I agree with Carrie, usually the shipping ruins the product.

It depends on the seller; just make sure it's 'local'. Either way if you're not completely satisfied eBay offers buyer protection do you're safe.

Research the reviews and that it's labeled 100% Authentic I have never had a problem with it

I would trust Amazon more than eBay

I would just see if the seller had sold anything else and see what other people thought of them but I would go to amazon before ebau.

There are many knockoffs on eBay,made by the manufacturers of the bh cosmetics, crown brush cosmetics and coastal scents, etc. they aren't any more dangerous than those products, but they aren't the real deal. importers usually have completely non related objects they are also selling in bulk. the funny thing is, the product is actually often indistinguishable to the naked eye. no pun intended. if the price is less than 50 for a new naked palette. its a knockoff. Buyer be aware, not just beware. tons of cosmetics we use everyday are also made by the knock off companies, I have also read that "seconds" products that don't pass QA have been sold on eBay, but that's just a rumor.

I sell beauty products on eBay and most of the other sellers I've come across don't sell anything fake. One good way to find out how legit the seller is would be reading their feedback from other buyers. If they have a high feedback score like 98% or above then you're going to get a genuine product. Most sellers pride themselves on their feedback score and would never do anything to jeopardize it, but they're always a few bad apples so check the feedback before buying.

Easiest way to find out if its fake is thrpugh the crapy packaging and crapy box it come with I've seen te fake ones downtown and I got to hand it to them they do a pretty good job of trying to make it look like the real thing, its more noticibal throught the box packaging cuz the box itself looks cheap, there are though duplicates that fake even the outside box with the plastic packaging and primer potion and even the purple velvety thing that holds the palette but the fake ones purple inside is way more cheaply made.

I wouldn't trust it simply because sometimes even the seller isn't aware the product is fake. I'm sure there are a lot of people who sell the real thing and take care to make sure the stuff they do sell is real but some may not know for sure that what they're selling is fake. Definitely read through the reviews and if you do buy then make sure you inspect it and make sure it is real. I would just advise to buy from a reputable source to begin with though, like Sephora, Ulta or the brands actual website. Personally I'd rather spend a little more money and know for sure I'm getting a 100% real product and know that I'm not risking my health or money to save a couple bucks. That's just my opinion though, I'm sure many have good experiences, but personally it isn't something I myself would risk.

Try other websites like UD website itself and if you live in the states you're lucky to have sephora unlike rest of the world😟

I bought one thinking it would be real turned out to be fake

UD is the top brand for knockoffs and the horror stories run from faint pigmentation to poor execution (palettes not even having the shade names listed and a foul odor. I'm sorry but why risk all that to save a few bucks. I value my skin health too much to take a risk. I 110% agree with Caitlin.

@fatima- asia has sephoras. there are plenty In china and I've been to one in bangkok. they all don't carry the same products though. way more makeup choices in the you.s. and more skincare choices in china.

I second @Netty...Sephora's are big time in Asia. The company is definitely international.

Netty & shelley I agree.. But what I meant online shopping through sephora. Because there is no sephora anymore in my country. The nearest sephora is 6 hours drive which is in dubai lol
