I'm looking into getting some good products and adding to my collection. For the past five years at least I've just really been focusing on eyeshadows. Now I'm getting into more types of products such as highlighters, blush, etc. Anyways what would your suggestions be? p.s. I dont need to wear any face makeup really, so I'm not focused on foundations and such. Thanks. :)

I'm obsessed with the "her name was glowla" set from benefit. It has a small coralista blush, high beam highlighter, moon beam highlighter, five eyeshadow colors (white, pinks, browns), a small badgal lash, and a super cute pink lip gloss with a doe foot applicator.

It's THE best kit.. I serisouly use it everyday and take it with me everywhere. You can't buy it from benefit directly anymore but they have it on Amazon for $45. Totally worth it!!

Creaseless cream shadows! They're such great quality, and they take for EVER to dry out! I've had my pot for a good 2.5 years now... still hasn't dried out.

Oooh Angela I have never seen that amazing looking set!!! I must get!!

Carly - I really love their High Beam Face Highlighter. It provides a soft highlight to your face without doing too much. I haven't really tried any of their eyeshadows or blushes yet but your post has inspired me to start trying them out! :)

i LOOOOOVE their new "They're Real!" Mascara. I never expected to like it because I'm not a huge fan of Bad Gal but this one REALLY pleasantly surprised me. I also love their "Bikini Line" eyeshadow, as well as their Hello Flawless! SPF 15 powders. =] They're really nice.

Their creaseless cream shadows are amaaaazing. They are so easy to use as just a sweep of color on your lids or you can put a powder on top.

I love their high beam, boi-ing concealer, and their blushes. I mean, seriously, Coralista is a classic! Along with Dallas. :)

Ditto on the creaseless cream shadows. Lovely. I'm also loving moonbeam highlighter, erase paste and bathina body balm.

I've had my eye on the box blushes, but I'm on a blush no-buy until I use up two. But when I use up those two blushes, I'm getting dandelion, dallas and bella bamba.

The sets are pretty cool :) I like 'finding Mr. Bright' because being quite pale, I like to add a lot of light to my face and make my skin look dewy. Girl meets pearl and high beam are the best products for that :) I've heard great things about their blushes, and I really want to get one some day! :)

Angela: I'm completely in love with that set! Thanks for the reccomendation :)

Soma, Gracey, Anna: I recently got the creaseless eyeshadows in birthday suit, skinny jeans and RSVP. I adore the colors but I find them to be a bit greasy and sheer even with primer. :/ How do you wear them in order for that not to happen?

Shannyn: I literally just got a mini set from Sephora with bentint, posie tint and high beam. Glad to hear highbeam is great. :) and yes I've been trying their other products for some time so far so good.

Steff: none of the powder eyeshadows really stood out to me, I thought they were pretty dupable and I have a good sized eyeshadow collection. Maybe I'll try their powders if I need one. I tried the "They're Real" mascara because before it came out I got it recommended to me for my eyelashes. I bought it my next trip to sephora but unfortunately returned it the next day. I have a lot of layers of thick, long eyelashes so everything clumps. I really wanted to love it but for $30 I just didnt want to have to work with it. Ill probably try it again in a few months.

Andrew: I don't sleep much and kinda felt blah and like I looked it. I went to get a blush or two to brighten my face & the girl suggested Erase Paste to me and put it on. I love how it brightens my face so easily! :) I wasn't big into bronzer before but my younger sister has perfect 10. I might just steal it to try it. ;P

Jazmine: I have yet to try my mini high beam but now I'm quite excited to. & you're completely right, they're blushes are gorgeous. I have Bella Bamba, Coralista, Dandelion & Dallas. I haven't had a good chance to play with each of them though. :/

Anna: I've been debating moonbeam a couple years....perhaps I should suck it up and buy it soon. ;P love erase paste, and How is the Bathina body balm for you? I have really dry skin so usually I stick with body butters...and good idea for blushes. I was never really interested so I kind of made up for lost time & got some in various sets. I have those 3 and so far completely worth it. :)

Zoe: I got the set at sephora for summer with the 5 full sized products to try more. It was great because it was $54 i believe. I love sets for value and trying new products. I've got an olive complexion with freckles and pink cheeks but I love girl meets pearl, I haven't tried high beam yet though. I love the dewy look and brightening my face as well. Thanks for the tip. :) and the blushes are great, I love the range & versatility though I think my sister is trying to steal mine... <.< >.>

I use UDDP as a base, and these are buildable... so I wait until they dry in between layers if I want a more opaque look. If these still feel too greasy for you, I would suggest MUFE Aqua Creams instead... they're not greasy, but they are harder to blend. It all depends on how oily your lids are naturally though.

Hope that helps!  =)

I use UDPP and I don't have oily lids. I've tried building them but I'm kind of impatient. lol I was incredibly in awe of these colors for some reason though so I'll try playing with them more. I've never tried MUFE Aqua Creams but I may check them out next time I'm at Sephora. I'm big on blending though, Thanks for the advice. :)

i have the feelin' cheeky trio from sephora. ive been using high beam a lot.. though it's a little icy on my warm skintone, so i highlight my cheekbones with it and then dust a mattifying powder overtop. it makes it more pearly than frosty and i love it

Is that the set of three minis with High Beam, Benetint & Posietint?

Aug 23, 2011

Samantha G.

mhm :) benetint is really nice.. it blends well and looks pretty natural but you can vamp it up on the lips if you want to. posietint is oookay. it sort of burns my lips so i don't reach for it often but it is a really pretty pink tint

@Carly

Bathina isn't a lotion. It's really hard to explain it. It's very sheer and light and has this soft luminescence. I like it on my legs if I'm wearing a skirt, or on my shoulders if they're bare. It doesn't moisturize--you smooth on the tiniest bit with a puff and it just feels silky and glowy. It's weird, and the tin lasts forever, which is good, since it's kind of $$$.

Their creaseless cream shadows I generally use underneath powder shadows, so I don't really work too hard to make them work on their own. Basically I use them as a base/primer in one, since they don't budge on me.

And I have highbeam and moonbeam but am totally in love with moonbeam. It's not as frosty as highbeam and gives a really natural finish, instead of a plastic-y one.* A lot of reviews I've read recommend moonbeam for medium and darker skin and highbeam for pale folks, but I'm about as pale as they come and still prefer moonbeam.

* you can totally get a fake finish from either product. It's all about product control. I mean, if you want to leave your house every day looking like a barbie, you could easily get the plastic skin sheen from either one. That's just not what I do on an average day. No judgement for those that rock that look, though. Work it.

Creaseless cream shadows..they are fantastic! Have had mine for a long time, and its still the same, hasn't dried out at all! i have them in couple of shades but my favorite is RSVP & Skinny Jeans .. really pretty colors!:)
Also i love their Hoola bronzer & The Perfect 10 (Bronzer/Highlighter)
Those are my fav products from benefit:)

Also if you want to try high/moonbeam then i do have those 2 in sample size..never used or tested. I would be happy to give them to you:) Let me know if u'r interested.

I absolutely love the benefit "eye bright" pencil. It's perfect to highlight and brighten up the inner tear duct area. Also, its creamy enough to glide on but does not have to be layered with a "powder" on top. Its about 18$ and mine has lasted me for quite some time now. Also like the erase paste but not for the under eye area. I think it is too creamy/thick but its beautiful as a concealer for the entire face. XO

Samantha: Thanks :) I'm kind of afraid to try posie tint on my lips now lol but I love rosy lip stains in the winter so I'll probably use that up first.

Anna: Oh yes, I know what it is! I kinda blanked on that one. I might try Batina, thanks for the tip. & yes so far the creaseless cream eyeshadows are great under a powder. Yes the barbie look works for some, but I'm not too big on it either. Thanks for the great tips though.

Blygja: I have RSVP, Birthday Suit & Skinny Jeans. They're definitely great colors for sure :) I'd visit them in the store everytime I was there since they came out...I finally bought them within the past month. haha :) I've really wanted to try Hoola, I'm not sure if it would be too light though? and after all these recommendations I think I'll have to borrow my sister's Perfect 10... Great reccomendations thank you. :) and if you wouldn't mind I'd love to try them :) Thank you so much! :)

Jessica: I've never really used a pencil highlighter but I'll have to try it now. I tend to notice their products are generally pricier but seem to usually last & be worth it. And I've never really used it anywhere other than under my eyes. I dab my finger lightly in it then lightly dot it under my eye in a triangle shape and blend. It's definitely very creamy but I find I just use barely any and it works great. I might try it as a general concealer now though, thanks :) xo

What all is in the confessions of a conceal-aholic Andrew? Just cause I don't want to have too many doubles I can't use up in time...

And hm, my sister has the same problem Rebecca. I'm really interested in it though. Coralista was the first blush by them that I bought. :)

So.. Hervana and Dalla blushes, all of their new glosses (the ones that match the blushes) because the colors are really pretty and the formulation is non-sticky and amazing, and hello flawless powder if you don't have a superoily skin :)
