Dark/Dull/Discoloured Outline Around Lips

I am young male and my lips have been a very big insecurity for past few years and its been a very frustrating struggle trying to present them at their best.

I find that i usually have this out of tone outline around me lips...i wouldn't say its always dark but rather more dull....but really highlights an outline around my lips...ill post some pictures to visually explain what i mean..(they're not my pics)

so basically i would really appreciate some advice or suggestions regarding this. such as why or how its caused? because not everyone has it. How to fix this? and achieve even bright colored lips? i'm guy so i want to stay away from the approach of using makeup

i did....but i figured it would help if i approached the problem one step at a time.
btw...that's not my pic...but my biggest frustration is that the're not always like that. sometimes my lips are fine and beautiful...but other times i notice this outline and i just sort of makes me insecure. because i know the potential for them to look better is still there...i'm just not aware

I have the same thing around my lip I use a concealer stick and rub a tiny bit on my finger and blend it into my lip line and into my skin. I wear alot of nude colored lipstick and it has helped to make the line around my lips not as noticable and it also helps my lipstick stay on longer
