MASCARA HELP!

Okay so apparently everytime I try to get help this isn't a problem but a gift but I'd love some help. I naturally have quite a few layers of eyelashes that are all quite thick and long and really black. I love them but I want to be able to make them look better and have super dramatic lashes or you know just enhance what I have. I'm a big fan of the doll eyes, really girly LONG eyelashes. But every mascara I've tried clumps, adds no real length and/or groups the layers all together. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good mascara for me? Thanks :)

I'm so jealous of your thick lashes! If you want them to look longer, try to find a mascara that has little fibers in it that stick to the ends (Maybelline XXL Volume - it does make them thicker but I love it because it adds length too) or ones that coat the lashes and build length (Maybelline Lash Stiletto is one).

Stay away from plastic spikey applicators; you want a thick brush that with separate lashes. And I have found that after I curl my lashes I coat the tips of my lashes first - it accents the ends which makes the lashes appear longer.

Haha it's great for no makeup and makes it so i don't have to wear eyeliner but I have to be super careful when I want to wear eyeliner and mascara. I've used primers before even just on the ends but they still clump or group. Is the XXL Volume like the colossal? And I've used lash stiletto, I liked it but again even that one clumped if i put more then a quick swipe. :/

Thanks for the tip, I've tried doing that before. Sometimes it works alright other times...not so much. And yeah, I try to try most mascaras to test and see how they work but usually I'm just not a fan of plastic brushes.

I've never tried the Colossal, but the XXL has the primer with little fibers in it and I've found that if I do one coat of the primer and then one of the actual mascara there's no clumping.

I forgot to mention another one I like: Rimmel Day 2 Night - just the "length" brush; the volume brush applies way too much product. It defines my lashes perfectly and I can do 2-3 coats with no clumping.

I wish I had those lashes lol....Try MAC Zoom Fast Lashes it works well for me with my barely there lashes and last all freggin day! No reapplying here lol.

Deana K.-hm I'll have to try those out, thanks! :) hopefully they work out.

Chavalier J-lol its good when I wanna be lazy I'll admit, I definitely got lucky there. But really? I love MAC but I've never really tried their mascaras surprisingly. I'm going to a mac store the 30th this month so I'm definitiely buying it. :) do you find it transfers or smudges around your eyes at all?

Carly,

So jealous!!! I would try: MAC Haught N Naughty, the pink wand, CoverGirl Lash Perfection, CoverGirl Volume Exact, or Maybelline Full N Soft. These are the best nonclumpers I have found that also lengthen. It's so hard because all our lashes are so different, the best kinds vary! I hope you find the perfect one for you!

So this might sound crazy....but I've been a huge fans of L'oreal voluminous and CoverGirl's Lash blast until I came across physicians formula. About $10 at drugstores..it lifts, separates, volumizes and doesn't clump!! My lashes also stay curled all day (tough to find in a mascara) It takes about 2 layers, but it's crazy good!! Totally sounded like a commerical haha, but it's the best I've tried! I have it on in my latest vid. Check it out if u want. Good luck with your mascara hunt :)

KLatia M-is it a really lengthening mascara? My mom has loved Mary Kay for a ridiculously long time and sold it for a while, love their stuff but only started wearing mascara end of grade ten and didn't get a chance to try any of theirs?

Stephanie F-thanks for the advice, surprisingly I don't think I've tried any of those? I'll have to do a drugstore haul for mascara soon & add them to my list for MAC next time I'm in the city. I know! my friends will be in love with mascaras and they just dont work whatsoever for me. :/ disappointing when that happens cause I really want to love them. Thanks! I do too :) When it happens I'll definitely repost an update :D

Laura N- Physicians formula's mascara is that great? what kind exactly did you use? and no worries bout sounding like a commercial, I think I surprise the heck out of anyone that works in the Mac & Sephora stores I go into when I describe the products I'm looking at before they even can. I think Physicians is one of those surprisingly good companies that doesn't have too much hype but I haven't heard about their mascaras. L'oreal voluminous is crazy popular with a ton of my friends, I have one who has 6 tubes at all times but it didn't work too great for me unfortunately. & Covergirl's I kinda stayed away from after a couple bad mascaras from them but didn't try that particular one.

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara defines, defends and delivers 4 times the volume. Your lashes will appear fuller, lifted and multiplied

I HATE clumpy mascara. Maybelline Full 'N Soft mascara is the best I've tried when it comes to that (high-end or drugstore) because it contains vitamin E and leaves your lashes soft instead of hard. I use a combination of this for length with Too Faced's Lash Injection mascara for volume. I have pathetic lashes, hence the double mascara duty ;)

Love it, love it!

You can see my review on the mascara on my blog: http://makeupchicliterarygeek.blogspot.com/2011/08/review-maybelline-full-n-soft.html

You can see my naked lashes in my blog to compare. This is super long for me after 1 coat haha.

Urban Decays Lush Lash Mascara is really good. You can build the layers and you won't get clumpy lashes. Also what really helps the appearance of having full lashes is tighlining. It really makes a HUGE difference : )
