I was browsing for the 180 pallet since I've never actually looked at it, Instead of clicking on "Prices Low to High" I clicked on "High To Low"
& to my surprise, I saw that somebody painted the MAC logo on the 180 pallete & tried to pass it off as MAC.

Not only that, but they marked it as $250.00!!! I'm APPALLED!! This person went through all of the trouble to actually match every "color" in the pallete with MAC shade names. It's ridiculous.

Granted, they are including a (fake) "MAC" 24 piece brush set with it. I decided to search for that itself goes for as low as $15.
I searched for the 180 pallete & found that it goes as low as $19.00. NOT $200+! I went into their store's page & realized that they're selling the 180 pallet WITHOUT the brush set too for $160.00 -- which means they think a $15-20 is worth $90!!! I think the most painful thing about it is that 4 people have bought this $20 for $160.

I was disgusted so I actually decided to contact the seller & ask a few questions as if I was a possible customer - this is what they said, ---

-----------------------------
"Thank you for your questions, but I guarantee that my pallet's are not over-priced. I pay way more than $19 for these palletes. I am selling my products in the same range as all other sellers. Myself and the other sellers do inform that we are not in any way affliated with MAC."
----------------------------

My point is, please do your research before buying on Ebay. I wouldn't have done all this if I didn't see that these people didn't actually purchase these palletes at these prices!
Don't get me wrong, Ebay is an AMAZING place to shop & I've had nothing but great experiences with this, but I don't want anymore people to get tricked from their money! :(

That is ridiculous! I would never pay that much. It does pain me as well to see people buying into this kind of scheme.

Report them to EBay as fraud. Report every single item they're selling and report them to MAC.

Where can I report them to MAC?I wanted to but had no idea how to go around it.

Use the contact us at the bottom of the MAC page. :D I've filed my own reports with MAC and Ebay but when others do it they have to take it seriously.

It is really crazy. Especially for people that are just getting into makeup. They are easily fooled by knock offs. MAC I believe is the number one brand that you can find knock offs for. Here in NYC you have people in the street chanting MAC for sale and of course they are not real. I thought to myself WOW an eyeshadow for $5. But it was not real. For someone that has tons of original products bought directly from MAC I can tell the differance. They are pretty good at making the packaging IDENTICAL!

I bought fake Mac on ebayand ms Theresa above was the one to tell me the difference.

That's nuts. I got my roommate into liking MAC & Urban Decay. She went shopping one time in the Fashion District in LA & was sold on a street vendor selling MAC lipsticks & eyeshadows. She bought a few things, but luckily only for $3-$5. I examined the sticker on the bottom of the packaging & told her it was fake. She actually was okay with it though, but I bet she'd be angry if she paid the normal $14-$16 amount. I think you should definitely report it. Especially at what Theresa said. Beginners who aren't too familiar with MAC find that palette & brush set to be a good deal when they're getting ripped off.

i always see people on craigslist selling that fake $5 MAC - it literally makes me mad lol like why are people buying this unregulated/cheap/possibly unsafe makeup just so they can say they use MAC - it's so stupid, you should be buying it bc it's a good product, not because you're a label wh*re. I called one person out in a nice way wondering if maybe they truly thought they were real MAC products. We basically ended up arguing bc she tried to tell me she gets it wholesale- then I told her that MAC does NOT have any sort of wholesale or sell "damaged goods" at lower cost. The girl then tried to tell me "well, it pays when you know execs high up in the company" lol i then realized you can't argue with an idiot and left it at that.. i just wanted to be like "yeah okay, so this MAC exec that makes tons of money, risks his job to get you product that you can sell for $5 and make a profit which would mean you're paying less than that for it-....idiot" lol i do try to post in the beauty section on CL warning others about these and letting them know how to tell fakes quickly - ex: no MAC shadows have mirrors and applicators, the pigments are't the short fat bottles anymore, and MAC doens't sell brush sets, ONLY at Christmas time and they are travel size.

The moral of this story is that if you want quality makeup, you have to pay higher prices...don't go looking for a deal. I have also seen all the rip-offs on ebay, amazon, etc. for makeup, skincare and even high end perfumes. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Sad that people take advanatge of people who don't know the difference.

I purchased a Wonder Woman Mac mineralized skin finish from ebay for $28. Thought that sounded like a good buy for Mac. When I get it I read the name on the bottom and it was Gold Deposit and that was not one of the Wonder Woman skin finish they released.

it is suppose to be a ''pro'' mac pallette with 24 mac brushes, for $210 !!!!!..& seeing that people have actually bought this makes me sad:(

i honestly don't get why people make fake make up.

I'm beginning to wonder if the Bobbi Brown brush set I got was real. I only paid $20 for 18 brushes.

It's gone now from ebay.

Sarang, I wondered the same thing too, but I almost fell for it when I was a beginner. The prices of retail makeup can definitely be discouraging to any beginner. =(

Jalaina, most of the time, if it sounds too good to be true, it's usually fake... BUT there are those that do get really lucky. You can always bring your brushes to a counter to cross reference them if you are really curious.  =)

I felled for it when I started, though what I bought was cheap the price for the shipping was crazy :'(
is sad how some people don't care for the ones that are getting started and don't know much about makeup are easily fooled, and these peole don't give a damn how hard is to save and get ur stuff...
that's why investigate first!
