Hello all! A girl I know has asked me to do makeup for her wedding day. She asked me to set the price and I was just curious as to what the average cost for doing bridal makeup is, or what you would charge. I obviously don't want to rip her off but I want to be fair to myself as I am using products of mine. I'm doing her makeup and one (or two) of her bridal party.
So beauties if you could help me out I'd really appreciate it!!

I think it depends on where you live and whether or not you are going to be on site! I live in the sf bay area and I don't think it's unusual to charge about 100 for the bride and 75 per bridesmaid
or you could set a flat rate rather than charging per person

I live in New Jersey and I'm going to go there to apply her makeup and stay there until the afternoon photos are finished then I'm done. Thanks so much for your reply!

In Vancouver it's generally $125 for the trial and $125 for the wedding day, $75 for bridesmaids, $40 for mother of the bride and flower girls/father of the bride are free.

I am a makeup artist and really, it all depends on the level of experience, how many in the wedding party, whether false lashes are involved, whether there is a pre-consultation etc.
On average, an MUA in the UK makes about 250-300 a day (this is average, the best charge more). So technically, a visit should be approximately £40 an hour. Considering bridal makeup for a whole party plus consultation can take about 3-5 hours, then you are looking at an average of £200. Bride alone would be about £80-100 without consultation.

Hi! I'm a working professional makeup artist/hair stylist who's been working in the industry for over 10years in the Miami/South Florida area. I also travel and do destination weddings/productions/etc. Since all of these reviews are mostly 7 years old, I wanted to share some of my rates with you that charge now to give a more realistic idea of the competitive going rates for bridal makeup/hair. Now that we enter 2018, the average rates for wedding/bridal makeup have definitely increased about 25%. (And if they haven't yet, they need to!) For a skilled, working professional artist/stylist, you should be charging AT LEAST $100/bridesmaid/MOB/MOG (with or without lashes, up to you) and $140-$175/Bride (this is for makeup rates). YOU MUST TAKE INTO ACCOUNT: Your kit. Your time. Your travel. Your skill. Maybe in bigger cities and more popular destinations, the rates might fluctuate, but there is too much overhead to just charge $75/makeup (time/travel/kit/skill), Anyone charging $75/bridesmaid/regular makeup is doing the professional industry NO GOOD. If you know you have exceptional skill, high-end products/kit, professional experience, pleasant client service, THEN RAISE YOUR RATES UP! (To at least $100/makeup. That way if they don't feel like tipping you, you're still covered.) STAND FIRM ON YOUR PRICES. CREATE A REPUTATION FOR YOURSELF - QUALITY VS. QUANTITY. I hope this helps and I'd love to talk more if you want!
