So I've been growing my hair for nearly a year now, from boy short to near shoulder length, I think I've done pretty well, my hair looks and feels a lot healthier too. But I'd love it if it grew just that little bit faster, I'm quite impatient! Has anyone found luck with a product or done anything which has encouraged hair to grow faster? I don't expect miracles, just longer hair! Help!

I've heard over and over that gelatin (when ingested) can make your hair/nails grow longer.. but I think it might be an old wive's tale. Gelatin is actually MADE of hooves lol.. so maybe that's where that thinking comes from. Jello anyone?

You could try hair growing supplement. These are ingredients found in different hair growing supplements that you could look for!
--The B-Complex vitamins, which is sometimes called the beauty vitamins are essential for hair growth and are needed for hair health.
--Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps maintain skin & hair health. Vitamin C aids in improving scalp circulation.
--Vitamin E is an antioxidant that enhances scalp circulation. Vitamin E also improves health and growth of hair.
--Inositol, also part of the B vitamin complex, which many experts claim to be linked to hair growth and supports healthy hair.
--L-Methionine - is a sulfur-bearing essential amino acid that is needed for hair and muscle production. It also prevents brittle hair.
--Iodine -is a trace mineral that helps to regulate thyroid hormone production, thus preventing dry hair and hair loss.
--Beta Carotene works with the B vitamins to keep hair shiny.
--Sulfur as MSM aids with the manufacture of keratin, which is essential for hair growth. It also helps to promote thicker and shinier hair.
--Essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 fish oil is known for their ability to significantly improve hair and nail health, improving hair texture, lustre and condition.

Thank you guys! :) @Angela, I've heard about the gelatin thing before somewhere, but they said you had to use it as a hair mask xD so I guess it might be a rumour if everyone's got a different story on it >_<

there is a silica gel you can get at health food stores and it works amazing! It made my brittle peeling nails stronger and thicker and made my hair grow a lot faster and it added thickness to my hair too! Plus its all natural, cant go wrong!!

I've been taking Biotin which is good for skin, hair & nails for about two months while I had my hair braided. I just took my braids out & my hair definitely grew about 4 inches.

Lol I shaved the sides of my hair and it is growing back but has a long way to go. I'm tempted to shave it again cause it's just taking forever. BUT in the past when I have done this, when my hair was long enough (still pretty short) I got extensions. It does work! just a lot of maintenance and $$.

Hi Zoe, I've been taking these Pierre Michel supplements (http://www.beautylish.com/p/rephair-by-pierre-michel-rephair-capsules) for years now and they really make my hair grow much much faster. They're expensive, but I think they're worth it--I definitely notice a different when I take them. I can usually see that my hair's longer after about two weeks. I also use Pantene Beautiful Lengths conditioner. It detangles hair really well, so you don't lose length from fallout or breakage (http://www.beautylish.com/p/pantene-beautiful-lengths-breakage-defense-conditioner). Hope that helps!

I am growing my hair out too and I got impatient so now I wear clip in hair exentsions. If you take alot of vitamin E or prenatal vitamins that will make your hair grow fast. I was doing that but I had to stop about 2 months ago due to taking a medication to help control my oily skin

The dietary supplement for hair and nails from phyto!
But also, the best thing you can do for your hair is to keep your body healthy. Drink lots of water, and make sure you are getting the right amount of vitamins from the foods you are eating (not just pills you are taking) =]

Its true you shld be taking vitamins, but what I also used to do was, when I got out the shower, i put baby oil from the middle to the ends of my hair and it really helped to keep it moisturized.also I just started putting coconut oil in my hair so i cant give a good word yet. But you shld really look into it, i hear its so good for hair.

- Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles
- Take multivitamin daily and drink alot of water
- Maintain good nutrition. Your body needs several building blocks in order to produce a healthy head of hair. In particular, you'll need enough protein and vitamins
- deep condition at least once every week
- Apply a light oil (olive , argan oil ) every month
- Relax. Stress is a common cause of reversible hair loss
- Minimize or stop using heating items on your hair
- Don't wash your hair every day; allow the hair oils to condition your hair rather than constantly washing the oils out.
- Use a quality brush to keep your hair brushed, such as a boar bristle brush. Tilt your head forward and brush with your head upside down to bring the oils to the ends of your hair and stimulate the scalp. :D x

My hair grows pretty fast so when it's short I have to get it cut like once every two weeks. I have recently decided to grow my hair out again and began taking Biotin, Fish Oil supplements and eating higher protein foods. Washing too often is a bad idea as it dries out the hair, however not washing enough can cause sebum build up and cause hair to fall out and become thin. I wash with a moisturizing sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and only wash twice a week. I would also recommend a clarifying shampoo once every two weeks as well to get rid of build up. Hope that helps!

I'm taking Silica tablets at the moment and i have definitely noticed a difference in the fullness AND length of my hair! It used be thin after I got it thinned out a couple of years ago ASWELL as getting it cut into a bob two years ago! I started taking them on the 22nd Dec '11 so I haven't been taking them long, but they are worth the €8 I spent on them because they are clearly working!

Hey! My good friend is a nurse and she suggested biotin for growing out hair quickly while still keeping it healthy. It's also really good for your skin and nails. On average, reviews say you can grow your hair around a half inch more a month when taking Biotin. In addition, it's helpful to take vitamin B and get regular trims (since hair can't grow out if it's a split end!)
