makeup for dance/stage preformances requires foundation, bronzer all over & blush. For eyes a good color combination is white on the lid, a deep brown in the crease perhaps outer corner, eyeliner on the waterline and top lashline (wing optional) and mascara though false eyelashes are great for opening up the eye. and red lips! That's for stage preformances though as the lights wash out your features. For just pictures I'd go more subtle but following the same sort of guideline except for children. When I was teaching I left the amount of makeup up to parents just for what they would be comfortable with giving merely a few suggestions on such. hope this helps. :)

For theater and photoshoots, ALWAYS contour and highlight. Fill in their eyebrows. Depending on the age range you want to make sure it isn't overdone, so bring foundation and powder in case. There's going to be a lot of lights and it'll get hot I'm sure so make sure you set their makeup with an alcohol based setting spray or else it will melt off.
