Hi, All! *waves*
I've just returned from a trip to my local Japanese market and bookstore looking for beauty goodies and gadgets, and I was wondering what are your favorite recommendations?
Here are a few things I picked up:
- Salux washcloth
- Dollywink eyelash case
- Koji eye lash accent curler [corner lashes]
- Odango hair base [to make a sock bun]
- Tropical Peach toilet spray [travel size]
- SanX key cap [cat!]
I posted more details and pictures on my blog: http://www.kabukivoodoo.com/2011/08/mitsuwa-trip-japanese-beauty-goodies.html
What are your MUST-HAVE Asian beauty goodies? Which are you dying to try? Share!
Also, anyone know what chain stores carry KissMe lashes?

Ooh! So many-so many:
- K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyebrow Brushpen (My HG. Can't live without it. The stuff doesn't move and it looks great.)
- K-Palette 0 Teka Oil Control Powder (I use this to set my make-up everyday)
- K-Palette 24HR Tattoo Eyeliner
- Kiss Me Long & Curl Mascara
- Kiss Me Mascara Remover
- Browlash EX 24HR Creamy Eye Pencil
- SANA Extra Large Mascara
- SANA Eye Liner Coat (To apply over your eyeliner so that it won't transfer onto oily lids and basically makes it waterproof)
- KATE by Kanebo Gel Eye Liner
- Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo
- Hada Labo Facial Care Range
These are just some of the lovely products that I love out of Japan. They're not that expensive and they really do deliver. Especially when it comes to facial care and eye make-up, I feel.

- Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl mascara
- KATE designing eyebrow

You should also check out cosme.net for more recommendations. It's in Japanese so it might be a little confusing to navigate, but everything is pretty self-explanatory and it's a reliable place to look to see where makeup/skincare/haircare products rank in Japan.
Korean products:
- MISSHA Cho Bo Yang BB cream
- TONY MOLY everything (cute packaging and great products)

The whole family loves and uses Salux washcloth. It's a good thing our CVS in Hawaii and other stores carry them like KMart.
We have drops for the toilet -- my cousins from California were thrilled when we showed it to the, and they even tested it out that night. HAHAHA...
So I am going to on a hunt to find K Palette and some other stuff. =^)

I just picked up the Salux cloths! Can't wait to try it out...
I've also been using the Missha Perfect cover BB cream, and I'm liking it a lot so far!
Anyone try the brand Skinfood yet? I heard their salmon concealor is a great dupe for Bobby Brown's pot concealors...
Man... you ladies really have me googling/oogling things! Can't wait to try out a few of these!

So in love with Dolly Wink lashes, ugh!
I haven't tried Skinfood, but I've heard amazing things about the salmon concealer as well.
I'm also dying to try FAIRYDROPS mascara! And KATE eyeshadows have peaked my interest.
For more widely known Japanese products, I love Shu Uemura's falsies! They are out of this world :)

@Soma S. It's fun looking at all the products, isn't it? I always go slightly mental when I hit the Japanese/Korean section of the drugstore. So many neat products, such cute packaging!
@DJ M. I'll have to check out the KATE eyeshadows one of these days. I swatched a couple and they were really pigmented. And Shu Uemura is an amazing brand. Their water resistant foundation is my current favourite. But it's hardly a drugstore brand, is it? If only it was!
Skinfood! Been hearing a lot of good things about the concealer and face masks, too. Shall give 'em a try soon.

@Lex Oops! Were we only mentioning drugstore brands? Hahaha Sorry!

Ahh, I loved Mitsuwa when I went a few years back! Next time I go i'll definitely have to check out their cosmetics! ^This is a good list of stuff to look for :)

lol Mandy! haha
Love this thread - I've been wanting to get into more!
Aug 24, 2011
Soma S.
Lex R. - I know, figuring out what the heck it is w/o any English translation is half the fun!
Mandy - if you don't have access to any markets, Sasa is a GREAT place to shop out products, since they also categorize by country of origin. You can browse strictly Korean products if you want, or Japanese...
http://sasa.com/SasaWeb/eng/sasa/home.jsp
Have fun oogling!
Ps: I used the Salux cloth yesterday - I can OFFICIALLY say I will NEVER use a loofah EVER again! I'll post a review on my blog soon... but if you ladies can get your hands on that cheap goodie, DO IT! DO IT NOW!!!!

@Soma Love Sasa!!!!

@Soma S. & DJ M.
SASA is a dangerous place to be. I just spent a bundle on stuff there and I'm not even clear on what some of them do! Tsk-tsk. Bad, Lex.

^I know!!!! Right after I suggested it, I decided to pretend shop and fill an imaginary cart... it came out to $550... and I closed the window. =/
Of course... I had the cart choc full of lashes, Tony Moly [everything fruit shaped], Kiss Me, Skin Food, JuJu... etc...

Oh my gosh ladies, I hear you! You can seriously go NUTS on there! So fun, but so not wallet-friendly haha.

Oh man... so I've been obsessing about the Salux towel to everyone willing to listen, and now that I've chewed everyone's ear off, I figured I'd just blog about it: http://www.kabukivoodoo.com/2011/08/salux-wash-cloths-do-you-believe-in.html#more
For body exfoliation, my Salux towel > Clarisonic. No lie!!! I'm hoping more people will chime in so I don't feel like I'm so crazy right now! <3

Jane: I miss having everything so readily available to me :P. Although living in j-land isn't all that different from home besides everything being in japanese of course. And the beaches are way farther...3 hours! crazy talk.
Soma: you're not alone lol. I've been using those Salux washcloths forever. I grew up using these things. That's all my family uses!

I've got to check out this Salux towel. Hope they have 'em here.
And I just bought the blueberry Tony Moly lip balm! So cute.

So far, i've a lil bit of Missha, SKIN FOOD, V.O.V, Tony Moly, The Face Shop, Etude House, Nature Republic and HANSKIN..
As you can tell, I'm such a Korean cosmetics junkie..
- Missha's THE STYLE Liquid Sharp Eyeliner [not liking the brush applicator that comes along with it but the eyeliner itself rocks!]
- Skin Food's Black Sesame Hot Mask, All Over Muffin Cake: #02 Gold Banana Muffin (Blusher), Candy Moist Rouge #771 [I always go crazy whenever I hit Skin Food's store.. Look at their tantalizing names to each and every of their product! Banana Muffin!!! *drools*]
-V.O.V's Baby Cheek in Gold Peach #4
-Nature Republic's Fresh Cleanser Oil Tea Tree&Lemongrass, Bloom Kiss Lip gloss PP01 "Lovely Purple" [It IS Lovely!]
-HANSKIN's Floral Water Mist in Rose Water [This is such a great product for me to set my make-up! I like to store this in my refrigerator! XD]
-Tony Moly's Kiss Lovely Lip Stick OR01 "Lovely Orange", Ice Queen Multi Play Creamy [Cute ice-cream packaging and acts as a make-up base, moisturizer and has sun protection properties!]
-The Face Shop's Honeysuckle 24 Moisture Shower Cologne [smells heavenly!]
-Etude House's Proof 10 Eye Primer [It has a pretty thick consistency but works great!], Drawing Eyebrow 02 Grey Brown [it comes with 6 tones! dark brown, grey brown, brown, black, grey, dark grey]
I've never bought any of their eye shadows before but they sure looked pretty. ;D
Most of them looked "pastel-y" to me.
I agree with Lex, SASA is dangerous! Not a fan of shopping via their site. I just prefer to go personally to any of their stores. I use their website to do some 'researching' on what to buy so I have a list at hand. But I tend to go overboard when I'm there so the list is pretty much useless! gahhh~!

@Munirah I really have to check out Skin Food one of these days. Grr. And SASA! You should really try getting stuff from their online store. It's free shipping, there are great sales, and I think there's a wider range of products when compared to the physical stores. The danger is that you'll most likely blow your budget to smithereens if you do decide to shop online. Ack.

They have Sasa STORES?! OMG... I think my happy little heart just died and went to heaven! I've got to track one down in California!
Sep 1, 2011
Munirah C.
@Soma hahaha! hmmm.. not sure about California.. but from where I live, we do have it here..
@Lex, I'm with you. There are times when some products have yet to reach the stores. So I might just order 'em online.. It's just my preference really to go to the stores cuz I can be a little impatient waiting for it to be delivered. lol!
Thanks for the suggestions!

@Soma I don't think they have stores outside of S.E. Asia. Sorry, Soma. That sucks, I know.
@Munirah But the stuff arrives at your doorstep in 2 days. Haha! But I understand the impatience.

On the whim, I bought some skin care stuff from Sasa, because one night a while ago, I stumbled upon someone's video about their new facial wash routine, and they were using Asian products. Although, I was like O_O I can't afford that much, I decided to just randomly buy affordable things from the Sasa site. I been meaning to buy beauty products, but haven't had the chance to return and make a purchase.
But anywhoo, those Salux towel is probably found in every Asain household in Hawaii. Just like Courtney mentioned, my whole family uses it... and I've pretty much grew up with it. LOL
