i have both palettes and i love love my z palette. i actually got my first z palette as a gift and bought my other two from imats so unfortunately i dont know how their website is. if your really concern about purchasing from them, there are other websites that sell z palettes.
the z palettes to me are a lot more sturdy than the mac one and they can also hold more colors in one of their palettes than the mac one.

I have a tonne of MAC palettes but my goal is to replace everything with the Z-palettes when money permits. They're bigger and a tad deeper so you can fit more eyeshadows in them. I also love that you can see what's inside without having to open the palette. My only worry is that I spray my eyeshadows with alcohol to disinfect them and I worry that the constant spraying will damage the cardboard.

Hi Jennifer, you can tell a website is secure if during the checkout page the website changes from http to https.

I have a z-palette that I bought from allcosmeticswholesale.com and it's really great.
A few months ago I found a seller on etsy that makes freedom palettes. Hers are a little smaller than the large z-palette but about $7 less. Her store link is here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/anothersoul?ref=pr_shop_more

Jeny I really recommend them. I have had issues with the MAC palettes cracking and the shadows inside breaking--there's no padding on those things! Z-palettes are awesome, but then I found the handmade ones and they are just too cute.
I guess the only thing I'd point out about them is, unlike the z-palettes, the paper covering isn't plasticized. If that's something that you care about, you might want to consider how you would protect them before you order. I have 3--two are just for home but the third has everything I need for travel and that one I covered with clear contact paper--I don't have to worry about the edges fraying or it getting dirty now.
Has anyone tried the Unii? I'm so curious but it's pretty expensive for the size...
