NEVER-ENDING OILY SKIN:(

Hey guys, I need some tips again :o lol. I have acne-prone skin and I've been on Differin & other treatments for the longest. My face still has alot of scarring but the breakouts are alot less. However, one thing that never goes away no matter what I do is excess oil. I've tried every type of "oil-absorbing" powder, mattifier, concoction, EVERYTHING. The oil breaks through in less than an hour once I put makeup on. It's like thick, greasy, disgusting, and makes makeup smear. I'm Italian and Iranian and I seriously think that's another reason why my family and I are such greaseballs..haha. But it sucks:( I can't touch my face or makeup, and nobody else can touch my face. If I hug people, I have to make sure my face doesnt touch their clothes or else they'll get make-up on them! I dunno, should I change my diet or something to lessen the oil production? No product I've used has worked. I feel like I'm kinda stuck with this problem:/ I hate having to constantly blot my fake, it makes my makeup cakey. I'm 18 and I've had this issue since I was 12. I also wear quite a bit of make-up to cover my acne scarring. If I didnt need so much coverage, I feel like the oiliness wouldn't be as noticeable. When I'm not wearing make-up the oil on my face is still there, but is much less heavy and nasty. Sorry this is so long. I need a little relief:/ my make-up can't look good because of the amount of oil on my face. Any tips would be appreciated:)

Thank you so much!:) I've done laser treatments before for acne but not microdermabrasion. I'll look into it! I also wanna try the clarisonic brush, but I have sensitive skin. But thanks again :D

Have you tried an oil controlling moisturizer?

I really like the Alba Botanica Rainforest Hydrating Oil Control Moisturizer!

Also I would look into the Clarisonic--I couldn't live without mine! They do have a sensitive skin brush head for it.

Good luck!

How often do you exfoliate? I have a good friend who would exfoliate frequently & complained about being very oily. Once I convinced her to reduce the frequency, her skin calmed down quite a bit.

When you blot, do you use powder or blot paper? I find papers work nice to remove the excess oil from your skin, so that if you feel you need to touch up with a powder - it won't cake up.

oil + powder = mess

I've tried many oil-controlling moisturizers before but I'll look into the Alba one, and also the Clarisonic! Thanks! :)

and I don't exfoliate very often anymore because my skin gets irritated easily. I'll see.
I do have blotting papers as well. thanks! :)

Use lemon juice as a toner and milk of magnesia as a foundation primer - just don't put too much or it will dry out your skin.

I don't have any skin care advise for you, because I'm not educated or anything to say something about it. Neither have I struggled so much with my skin as have, and the only advise I feel like I qualify to give is the ones that I have tried out myself. That said, I do have acne-prone and oily skin myself, and the one product I swear by is: Diorskin Crystal Nude Natural Matte Skin Perfecter. It's a mattifier that is completely transparent, the texture in the container feels like almost a wax (sounds scary, I know) but when you put it on your face it feels like this silky smooth powder. You can use it both under your makeup (how I use it) and over as a touch up. I don't know if this could work for you, but for my skin it has worked awesome! It is a little expensive, 40 dollars at sephora, but maybe it's worth looking into? :)

Thank you Lerina and Ida! :) i'll look into both of those things.

Aless, I suffer from oily skin as well. I live in So Cal so I get weather from the highest being 120 to lowest being 56. I started using a facial cleansing brush morning and night. They sell them at Sephora and Sallys. I have really liked using it. Its not like the clarisonic but with a little bit of work you can lather up and get the same effect. Another thing I do is mixing astringent in my liquid foundation. It does sheer it out but it controls the oil. Try using a moisturizer for men. The mens products have a little bit more oomph in them so maybe thats what you need. And as always...keep oil blotting sheets in your pockets. I use the e.l.f ones. Whats sick is that I go through like 8 sheets on a bad day. I hope you find something that works. Let me know.

GOOD LUCK mija!

Thanks a bunch Carlos!
I wanna try a cleansing brush like the Clarisonic, alot of people are ecommending that. And okay sounds interesting! I'll keep you all posted :)

Microdermabrasion and chemical peels are great for acne scarring! I would definitely recommend those two.. make sure you clean, tone, exfoliate and moisturize daily.. that is key to maintain good skin! Also make sure to use gentle cleansers, and exfoliaters. Alot of poeple think the harsher the product the better because they believe that it will "dry" up their oil.. but in reality the harsch chemicals just aggravates the skin and makes it produce more oil!! always moisturize too, you might think you dont need to since you have oily skin but it can really keep your skin a lot less oily by just moisturizing daily! Good luck! :)

Thanks:) i use alot of moisturizer 'cause I get dry patches even though I get really oily as well. I just need to get the grease down haha.

Exfoliate! And use oil free makeup, try only water-based products from now on! :)

Thanks dear :)
