Has anyone used an at home color corrector before? I'm looking at One n Only's color fix and it says it doesn't contain ammonia, bleach or formaldehyde... so how does it remove the color?
I'm currently a strawberry red right now and while the color is ok and doesn't need "correcting" I'm looking for an alternative method to strip the red in some areas.
Any advice or experiences with these kinds of products appreciated!

I know that while the label may say the product doesn't contain any of those things, it still does, but in smaller quantities.
What kind of look are you trying to achieve?

Ulitamtely I want a rich, dirty blonde look with natural looking highlights. Right now I have about three inches grown out, just natural color- which is a bit on the mouse-y side. The rest was previously bleached platium and then semi permanently colored a deep chestnut. It's faded to a strawberry-ish blonde that is actually somewhat close to my roots but I've grown tired of it and really want the blonde I described above.
I'm totally comfortable with bleach and was thinking of just bleaching it out and then doing some extra high highlights mixed with a few lowlights, but if there's another method to bleach, I'll definitely give it a try.

bleach is probably your best bet, I would just suggest using a lower volume developer if possible

Thanks. I had a feeling that these color correctors are too good to be true. I know what to expect with bleach so I think I'll go ahead with that process.

I had used a color corrector before & it just turned the person's hair a muddy color. Good luck with your hair! :)
