I'm looking to color my hair black, and I'm looking for suggestions on what brand to use and what works.

Garnier HerbaShine is my favourite by far. It's only a semi-permanent, but black lasts forever anyway. It smells amazing and leaves your hair SO shiny, which is good because the big problem with black hair dye is that it an look really dull, so you look like a witch >_< I'd recommend using midnight black, as blueberry black has a blue tint, and the 'coloured' ones don't seem to last as long.

I used Revlon Colorsilk for years. Never had any problems with it.

Well thanks for the suggestions. I was using Feria, but seems to fade quickly.

Loreal Preference is amazing I use that. You can buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply

I noticed with Revlon Colorsilk it would fade to a dark brown really quickly. I recently switched to Clairol Nice N Easy and OMG no fading or anything and it is really great product. It comes with a lot of color product as well! I am a natural toehead blonde as well, so if a color doesn't fade it must be amazing!
