Is it worth it?

browsing down the aisle at Walmart last night when I came across makeup kits by: Hard Candy, The Color Workshop, etc. They had lots of palettes and brush sets for 20$ and under.

Since it was so cheap and at Walmart, are these even worth buying? Not sure of the quality of the makeup, I have received Color workshop gifts in the past and have been less than satisfied with them but the baked eye shadow set looked better quality than the previous sets. Are these gifts worthy? What do you guys think?

Hard Candy used to be sold at Sephora. But now they are an Exclusive line at Walmart. It's sorta a more affordable "dupe" to Urban Decay... I think. Although I hear some are a hit or miss, for the most part it's a good brand.

I really love their concealer GLAMAFLAUGE (sp??)!! It's currently what I use now, and it's very creamy (even in this winter weather) and easy to work with and conceals pretty darn good. To me it's similar to MAC's Select Coverup concealer -- but much much cheaper and much much more product.

I agree with hard candy being a hit or miss. I have some of their eye shadows are they are pretty good and very pigmented. I herd they have a good concealer as well.
I have a fox in a box blush quad and I like it okay. It has pigment as well.
But I tried one of their liquid glitter eye liners and I wasn't very impressed.

I really like Hard Candy as a brand, they have unique drugstore products, like Jane said almost duping Urban Decay! TCW, however, I wouldn't waste the time on. I would only give those as gifts to young girls as "play makeup" or perhaps to jump start a young girl into using makeup to enhance her natural beauty.. but for more avid makeup users skip TCW.
