I used the Frost & Glow kit on my hair about three months ago to touch up on my balayage and I loved it!
I was honestly really scared and did a lot of research on this before even going out and purchasing it. I am so afraid of box color. Not knowing how long its been on the shelves and etc. Totally took a chance and so glad I did.
I left the bleach in my hair for about 20 minutes and it really lightened up the area around my face. Really gave me that soft caramel blonde that I wanted. One thing that I do have to throw out there is that my hair is already colored (light brown) so I am not sure if that played a role in anything. I do see that you have black hair so results may vary. I know having black hair it is so hard to achieve any color. For my hair type I have really thick coarse hair. After using the bleach I did see some parts being really dry but of course that comes with the bleaching. Overall I would say go for it. Do some search online like I did and see if this is really for you.
I hope this helps you out somehow and good luck :)

@Fariha W. You have to use a bleach, which is really damaging to your hair. If you don't use a bleach it'll turn out weird. A bleach will lighten your hair. If you just use dye, it won't do anything. Hope I helped!

For about 8 straight years I used this kit to highlight my hair blonde. I became such a "pro" at doing this and THEN...... the last time I did it I royally messed up and had to go to the salon... and give in to the $100 foils instead. Don't ask me what the heck I did that was so wrong because it worked so well on my long hair for years and years. And it was soooooo affordable. I mean it can't get ANY cheaper than that!
But when I got foils for the 1st time I was smitten, lol. But I highly highly recommend this if you're willing to take the time. I'd say if you had a friend help you you would never have a problem. Just make sure to pull right as close to the roots as you can.
Good luck!!
p.s. I still use the kit to give my dad's short hair a few little highlights LOL. The box lasts like 6 months for him!
