For those of you who received the $15.00 or $20.00 gift card what do you plan on buying? Also how you feel about having to spend $50.00 in order to use the gift card?

So for those of you who shop at Sephora know that every year they give out $15.00 or $20.00 gift card for you to use toward your sephora purchase, but you have to spend $50.00 in order to use it. Just my thought, I feel like you should only have to spend $15.00 or $20.00 in order to use it because more than likely you are going to spend more than that anyway, however I don't feel you should be force to spend that much. It doesn't really seem like a gift card if you have to spend more than the gift card.

I've been a VIB for a few months now and I only got a $15 card does anyone know why that is??...... Yeah I don't like the fact that you have to spend at least $50 either!

I think it depends on how much you spend annually for it to affect how much you get. I received the $20 one, and just stocked up on makeup remover and foundation... The essentials. =]
As for the spending minimum, I don't mind. My MUFE HD foundation is easily $40 on its own, so I pretty much got the sense eyes mu remover almost free... And received the freebie makeup bag using the FROMSEPHORA promo code.

@Selena, I believe Soma is correct! I think there is a certain amount you have to spend but I have no ideal what that amount is. I always get a $20.00 this year I used mine on the Michael Kors Gold perfume and the hello kitty blotting sheets. And I also got one of the hello kitty makeup bags with the 12 samples in it.

I really don't think having to spend $50 is all that much. Getting $50 worth of stuff for $35 of only $30 is definitely a steal. I think if the company let people only have to spend $15 or $20 in order to use the gift card... they're getting a free product...?

I wish I had one I'd be buying the sephora by OPI nail polishes!

@Steff, I think most of us when ordering from Sephora spend more than $50.00 but at the same time I think it would be nice if there was no spending requirement over the amount they are giving you for those times a person maybe broke or for those that just can't afford to spend that much.

@Rachel, do you shop at Sephora often? If so they probably will be sending you one soon.

@Gennet I live in Australia I only come to the states once or twice a year I got some Sephora By OPI & Nail Incs Polishes when I was there in November, I have a US shipping address with a forwarding company that can send me my orders from websites in the USA but the Sephora Website requires you to have a credit card registered to a US address and I haven't figured a way to get round this glich yet (grrr)

@Rachel, dang that's unfortunate.

@gennett sucks but I am pretty resourceful when it comes to nail polishes I am going to try and swap for some sephora by OPI's on make up alley I'm also thinking if I could buy a sephora gift card I could use it on their website without needing billing address might be worth a try :)

When I was in a good financial standing I was surprise I was spending $200 a month on products. But it was mostly on skin care stuff, or brushes/accessories. I really like their annual Gift Card, it was about $20 (I think VIBs may get a higher monetary value).
But now that money is a little tight I've hardly stepped into a Sephora. Anyway, I swear the prior years the "amount we had to spend" was lesser. Maybe like spend $30 and you get a $15-20 Gift card.

Actually you don't have to spend the "required" $50 amount. I spent less than that and the gift card worked fine. It is an actual gift card you're using after all.

@Gennet OMG I just got the Sephora Beauty Insider email with the $15 off $50 gift card can't believe it now I've got to find some way I can use it!

FYI: You don't have to spend $50 to use the card. My daughter used hers on two $10 lip glosses. Her total after shipping and tax was under $13.

@Jane, I think us girls who really love make up products have no ideal how much we spend on makeup some times. My last purchase was when I used my sephora gift card. I won't be buying cosmetics for a while until I use some stuff up.

Rai and Yasmin, you are so correct! I just checked it out with my sister gift card and it went through with no problem for a $15.00 purchase.
