I don't think your family and friends would laugh at you. They would most likely support you! You are gorgeous and photogenic (I was just looking at your pictures lol). I'm kind of in the same boat as you but instead of modeling, I want to be a successful blogger. I've actually started about 2 weeks ago but I haven't told my friends yet. The only people that know is my brother and my mom lol. I plan on telling my friends when I feel more confident about my blog. But don't be like me. You should definitely give it a go! We only have a certain amount of time to do the things we love in life so, just do it! <3 :)

My middle child is a commercial actor and model. I cannot begin to stress how much you need to watch out for the leeches in that industry. Attend model open calls at legit agencies. And run as fast as you can if ANY agency tells you that you need to pay them money to get pictures done. We were lucky that we didn't have to run into such nonsense but I did when I was 18 trying to get in as a petite model. As far as family and friends support....just tell them because there is nothing better than having the support from those that love and know you. Don't let it be a secret. If you can reveal this here then you can definitely share with the peeps. :)

I see where your coming from, I want to give up on my current plans of becoming a speech therapist to become a makeup artist and I have been putting off telling my mom because I know she will be upset. You ultimately have to do what you feel is right for you and will make you happy, if you want to go into modeling give it a shot! Some people will support your decisions, my boyfriend fully supports my change of path and thinks I would be great at it, and there will be some people, like my mom, that won't support you not because they don't want you to succeed but because they want what they believe is best for you!
Just go with what your gut is telling you and you will do great! =]

Aw i feel you. I've always wanted to be a fitness model cause i have an athletic body. But, i don't have the courage to approach it cause of the same things and because of my height im 5'3'' lol. But go and do what you gotta do! I would suggest you to try and look up agencies from screen actors guild. It's mainly for acting but some of the companies they list do modeling. You can do anything you set your mind to do! Don't let anyone hold you back! And Meidy i so feel you! I just started my blog this week and i want to be successful with it aswell! :)

Modeling is hard. I did it for a very brief period and did a few commercials as well. Except lots of NOs before getting that one YES. You can do local model work if your town is large enough and find local photographers who may hire you.
Oh and be VERY careful of the scam artists. Look for an agent if you plan on moving to a big city. Look for a REPUTABLE agent not one who will part you with hundreds of dollars up front. They're scam artists.

I secretly want to too! Just go for it <3 My dream job is working at a magazine (preferably cosmopolitan) :) writing articles, modeling (occasionally), doing makeup, and photography. (Not all at the same time of course) lol. My friends and family probably think I am crazy for wanting to do so much but that is what I want and I have never wanted anything more. If I had to choose one that would be hard lol but all of those are my passions!
I used to want to become an actress but my parents never supported it. :-/ they thought I wouldn't make it because I am from a little town and I would have to travel to a huge city. That is why I never persued it! But my husband supports me through everything he is amazing <3

I know how you feel, and can only relate to it. But one of my goals this year is to do things i truely believe in, and not think about what other people migth think about it. Some of the greatest models in the world did also have the same feeling like you, but what they did was goes with what their heart is telling them.
If you truely believe it go for it hon, because life it to short to regrets and failure.
Good luck
