I went to use my MAC Eye Kohl in smolder today and noticed that the black tip had this white almost dusty looking stuff on it. I didn't use it because well I don't know what it is has this happened to any of you ? Any ideas on what it is or if it can be saved, I haven't had it for that long and have only sharpened it maybe once.

It may just be eye shadow or something. If you're worried, give it a sharpen. Bacteria can't penetrate that far into a pencil, so if it's not old then it should be okay.

That's surface bacteria. Deffinitly sharpen it down. Anytime I use an eyeliner I always sharpen it to rid anything that is on the surface.

If you have a kohl/pencil liner you should wipe the tip with a bit of alcohol BEFORE sharpening it just to prevent bacteria from spreading.
