Bobbi Brown makeup manual is amazing, it teaches you so much and is so informative, it even has a section about becoming an MUA! :)

Making Faces is a def. must have... But the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual left more to be desired for me. Aside from seeing kit suggestions for products, I found I learned a lot of that info via YouTube, and it was poorly written. There was no personality to that book, everything was a short statement that was boring compared to the Kevin Aucoin book. Also, the section on brushes didn't even cover everything. Just the traditional brush shapes, but times have changed and we have way more available to us now than what is shown in the book.
Don't get me wrong, the Bobbi Brown book wasn't bad, but I found it more a primer for beginners than professionals. If you watch loads of makeup tutorials online, it is not necessary for you.
Ps: buy them used on amazon, save money and trees! =]

I definitely agree with both Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces and Face Forward! I absolutely love both and Making Faces really breaks down contouring and highlighting if you're just beginning to learn more about facial makeup ;)
