Heyy, I have fine hair, i always tease it and use hair spray, resurrection dust and mouse to get volume but it doesn't stay in long enough for my liking! Any suggestions on products or techniques that will keep my volume to last over 2 hours??x

Okay! So! You want to use a clarifying shampoo..I like John Frieda. The reason your hair is staying limp even though you're using all of those products is because your hair has accumulated buildup. When you use a clarifying shampoo it removes all that buildup and allows hair to really become voluminous again. Clarifying shampoos can dry your hair out and they strip your hair, so you want to use a super moisturizing conditioner afterwards. I like the K-pak Revitaluxe by Joico. Don't use this everyday though. If you're using as many products daily as you said, then I'd do it maybe 2-3 times per week. Also, when your hair is still wet, flip your head over and dry it upside down. This always give me tons of volume. Hope this helps!

I agree with Mavie about the clarifying shampoo, but i found a great product that you can kind of revive through out the day. Its Alterna Bamboo volumizing spray ,you spray it at your roots in dry hair and through the day if it goes limp you just massage the root and it will fluff back up again. It doesn't feel gross and it smells great also

make sure you let your hair cool upside down too. or put it in a folded and looae pony tail at the top of your head, then heat and let cool. heating opens the pores and cooling closes pores. also use dry shampoo. I like dove's.

I hear this a lot from my clients. 1st, make sure you are using a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. With the conditioner, make sue you only use it from mid shafts to ends. Getting too close to the scalp will weight your hair down. 2nd, on towel dry hair use a mouse on your roots. I would recommend AG big wig. It swells up your hair cuticle, which creates volume and has a good hold. 3rd, flip your head over and power dry your hair working your fingers at roots. When your hair is about 75% dry spray in a thicking spray such as Oribe Maximista threw out your hair and start round brushing. If you have extra time set your hair in velcro rollers and let hair cool.
I would also recommend Orbie Dry. Its a dry shampoo/texturizing spray. It gives your hair a little extra ooumph! With that, all you need to do is fluff up your hair hair with your hands as the day goes on. :)

Also try any volumizing powder. The stuff from the drugstore works the same as the salon I find. I have short fine hair and like to make it big and I find this works super good!

My hair is exactly the same as yours... Big sexy hair root pump is holy grail status for us. Just apply to roots of damp hair and blowdry upside down! Will add volume all day

To get volume on my hair I usually just blow dry it in the direction that I would most like it to go! so if i want to get alot of volume what I do is blowdry my hair upward and tease it! then I apply my hairspray! That may not be whats best for you! I just thought I would give you some ideas!

Georgina do you still have this problem. My work has developed the ultimate volumizing line, DR Volume Extend. It was created for fine hair to make it thicker and boost volume at the root. Also as its alcohol free it won't dry out or damage your hair. I'd love to send you a sample of the line to hear your thoughts! <3 Bekka
