Does it bug anyone else when you walk into a drugstore, and the celebs modeling the mascaras are so obviously wearing fake lashes? or when they model foundations, they're photo shopped? I feel insulted... do they really think we are that dumb?

I know! Usually in magazine ads it'll say in the bottom corner of the page that the model is wearing lash extensions. But when I want to try a new product, I don't look at these models, I look at honest reviews online by beauty bloggers, they're not photoshopped xD

Oh I could rant about this until the cows come home. Suffice it to say I'll say this, mascara ads in the US are full of BS. It's obvious the model, actress, spokeswoman is wearing fake lashes - either full strips or individual ones - no mascara can do what it promises when it says your lashes will look thick and full just like fake ones.

Those mascara ads make me want to punch something, hahaha.

I can't f*cking stand those commercials!! Do they think we are friggin idiots?! UGH!

ugh i agree! the lashes don't even look like they were ever on the model usually, even falsies don't appear THAT flawless.so even with saying they have fake lashes on (which is a whole other irk), its extremely hard to believe the lashes aren't completely photoshopped over.

ughhh how annoying are these ads. It's obvious they are all wearing fake lashes.
Do they really think people can't tell the difference?

Oh I know, it`s ridiculous. I find myself not trusting any photo advertising anymore, only the information it provides and the claims of the product. Only the product can speak for itself nowadays.

In the UK, we have someone in the limelight called Cheryl Cole and she does lots of Loreal adverts. Recently L'oreal have made a mascara ad and they did it without lash inserts and such. It was actually so refreshing to see, yes they probably took an hour to put the mascara on and used tweezers and things to make it look pretty, but its a start. Do I think this is a change in the advertising world? Nope, think the next L'oreal ad will have lash inserts, which is a shame because Cheryl's lashes look good!

@Tanziina, I agree! I've seen those adverts and Cheryl doesn't need fake lashes! It was so nice to see an honest advert, I wish other brands would do the same.

ugh, I hate all make-up and hair product ads! Such BS. If I want to know how a product really works & if it's any good, I go to YT, MakeupAlley or a beauty blog.

Having experience in the field of graphic design, I've photoshopped some REDONKULOUS lashes on people, and people totally believe theyre real xD It's so easy to do, and some people are just so gullible, they believe that that product will make their lashes exactly like those in the ad. Smh. If only! xD

Yes! Any extreme editing is a HUGE issue with me. It turns me off to the products completely. Airbrushing and fake anything needs to come to an end... or at least a huge decline.

Mascara ads are the worst. I feel so embarrassed when I am watching them. I like finding real pictures of people wearing them and reading a lot of reviews!
