I own a couple of MAC lipsticks that I like just fine, however whenever I'm trying a new shade or am experimenting with a certain trend that I like I tend to reach for drugstore, particularly Revlon. But there are just some shades that I feel are unique to Mac, so if you can find a drugstore dupe pick it up! But the reason most people like Mac and the name is because they're good quality, so it's not like you're making a mistake by investing in them.

My fave brands for lipstick are mac, estee lauder, and revlon. I own pretty much every revlon matte and they are all perfection except stormy pink....it sucks don't buy it. I have nine of the revlon colorburst lip balms......amaazing I love them all, however they are sofft so they are snapping at the base for me.....not a big deal to me since I use a lip brush but still it does happen.

As much as I WISH to promote drugstore brands, I always tend to reach for my MAC lipsticks more than any other. That being said, I only reach for Cremesheen and Amplified finishes, which I found are exclusive to MAC and MAC alone.
HOWEVER, for a matte lipstick, I find that Revlon are very comparable in formulation. If you want a sheerer lipstick, maybe drugstore would be the best, but for my taste, I always stick to MAC.

I mostly use MAC lipsticks, the colour range is great, I love the scent and they feel good on my lips. But I have a couple Rimmel lipsticks which I really like. I'm willing to try drugstore lipsticks when they go on sale cause then if I don't like the texture, I don't feel bad about not dishing out a lot of money because you can't return them. At least if you hate Mac stuff you can take it back :)

I recently tried MAC lipstick, I bought their lustre lipstick in lovelorn. While I love the product I think I'll stick with Drugstore brands like Revlon and Avon which have great formulas in wide range of shades at better prices.
