What's more important, a foundation primer or foundation brush w/ revlon colorstay?

I use Revlon color stay it covers beautifully. i do not use a brush to apply it i use either a basic Foundation brush (Flat) or a Beauty blender/or sponge. ive used it with and without a primer, i honestly havent seen a differnce as long as you set it with powder it lasts the same amount of time. just make sure you get the right one for your skin type (Dry;normal;oily/combination) and always set your liquid foundation :) Hope that helped you hunnny!

I would say since you're using Colorstay, and it's a matte foundation, try applying with a sponge (wedged or flat). I've used this foundation (although I discontinued due to breakouts) and found that brush application with the matte makeup came out streaky because it dries, or mattes, quickly. In my opinion, the sponge helps blend and apply evenly.
Oh, and I would highly suggest a facial primer to further ensure even coverage.
Happy Beautifying:)
