I will be taking a trip soon... And I was interested in what makeup did you take or are going to take in your carry-on bags? And how do you store your makeup in your luggage? Is there anything they didn't let you take on the flight?

i personally never put any makeup in my carry on because i'm always scared they'll take it away :(. but i do bring lip balm. i usually bring a MAC x15 palette and put in the eyeshadows i'll be needing. a lot people say that their MAC shadows break in their luggage, but if you just pack it around your clothes in your suitcase, it'll have lots of padding to keep it from breaking.
aside from that i bring a couple of multi-functional brushes, eyeshadow primer, foundation, mascara, eyeliner, lash curler, and a lipgloss that can be worn with anything. if it's a longer trip (like backpacking), i'll also bring brush cleaner and travel size anything.

Yeah I'm doing the same...tucking my makeup in my clothes. The only palette I'm bringing with me is the Too Face Naked eye because if it gets crushed it won't hurt my feelings....hehe. But I did wrap it in bubble wrap just in case. I would like to carry some makeup in my carry on but not sure what!?! So far all I have is my lipbalm but I need some color too

If you're flying in the US then all liquids have to be three ounces or less and they have to all fit in a ziplock bag (sandwich sized). So this includes all your lotions, foundation, perfumes and anything else that's not a solid. It's so stupid and annoying but you risk having them take your things away if you don't comply. Depending on where I'm traveling to I'll leave my perfumes at home and use the hotel soaps and shampoos. Or you could always buy travel sized shampoos and things once you arrive. I carry the rest of my makeup in my purse so it doesn't get squashed in the overhead compartment.
If you're checking your bag you can pack whatever you want in there (so full sized products, not just the 3oz nonsense). Just don't pack anything that's under pressure like hairspray! The pressure changes in the belly of the plane can make them explode! Happened to me... it was such a mess.
Hope this helped a little and have a good trip!
