Does anyone know of any good OTC acne treatments? I am struggling these days...Idk if its just the weather or the soap im using or what! Share your secrets with me Please, and if you have before and after results...  Thanks!

you know what, ive struggles with acne for YEARS!. ive tried tons of different stuff and none seemed to work. I WAS about to buy proactive but didnt wanna splurge just yet. SO, what I started using (and have used for YEARS now. I just love this stuff!) is the st. ives apricot scrub for acne prone skin. IT works wonders! it has 2% salicylic acid which helps dry out your pimples, AND its a scrub so u exfoliate your skin to get it extra clean. its gentle enough for yo to use it everyday! :) and for less than $4, its inexpensive and works for me.

along with that, I started using clean and clear adcantage acne control moisturizer. I found that it helps my skin too! it ALSO has salicylic acid. sometimes if i feel a pimple, i put it on before bed after I wash my face, and in the morning, my pimple has reduced. and its only like $6 at walmart. Heres a link so u can see what it looks like. http://www.cleanandclear.com/product/moisturizers/advantage-acne-control-moisturizer
this is my new routine and so far i have yet to have a breakout! And I used to have then A LOT! hope this is helpful doll :)

I've been struggling with acne for 2 years. I've tried every acne solutions but nothing worked except for AC Clinic Acne Foam Cleanser. It dried up my pimples really fast and heal its remaining acne marks too! OMG! I already fell in love with this product of Etude House. It is also Non-Comedogenic. If you want to try this product, I suggest you use the whole line for better results! Here's the product review if you're interested : http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgirls-bee-log.blogspot.com%2F2011%2F12%2Fac-clinic-acne-foam-cleanser-review.html&h=CAQHBbQNgAQHGukKWCo_JqF3gbhDPw_TnwICvGGTvpr3SMQ
Korean skincare products are great! :DD

I don't know of any OTC products that really offer help...But Rodan and Fields has an UNBLEMISH regimen that really works!! It is a bit spendy but the products last a good long time with 60 day empty bottle guarantee!1 Order it at www.antiagingplus.co....it is the same doctors that created ProActiv!!! so it really is medical grade!!

If your skin can tolerate it, products with benzoyl peroxide (fav is cliniques acne solutions emergency lotion, but drug store products seem to work pretty well too) I've found combining benzoyl peroxide treatments in day with salicylic acid containing products at night works well. Also any concealer designed for acne w/ salicylic acid is a good idea. Just remember to be careful with benzoyl peroxide products as they can bleach your clothes!

Veronica, African Black Soap really works. It's really cheap (under $10) and can be found on Amazon.com or at an African/Jamaican/Caribbean type store. It has no chemicals in it and it's way better than any neutrogena, clean and clear, proactiv etc. If you're interested, get the 100% raw African black soap that is actually brown and comes in a round tub. The one that comes in a bar form and is black in color has added chemicals and it's not 100% natural. This has done wonders for my skin and I had previously been breaking out for 13 years before using this product.

Here is a link so you can see what it looks like and read the reviews of people who have used it: http://www.amazon.com/100-Pure-African-Black-Liqiud/dp/B000W3WP1W/ref=pd_sim_hpc_6

I highly, highly recommend!!!

Epiduo is so good!! I have been using it for 1 year now and my skin looks faboulous!! Im not kidding! In the beginning, your skin will be worse, but so will your skin be better and better. The negative with this product is that it doesn't work at scars, but my acne is gone

I've recently been using antibiotics and cream and theyre clearing fine, but another great thing that holds it back is the Body Shop Tea-Tree range, especially the night cream!

Proactive didn't work for me. I had moderate/severe acne with combo skin. it dried my skin out. I used the entire bottles religiously & got nothing. I highly recommend the following:

1. Yaz: yes, its birth control, but it did AMAZING things for my skin. I only get one or two pimples a month now. (usually around my peroid) Life saver.

2. Clean and clear acne advantage 3-in-1 exfoliating cleanser: it has benzoyl peroxide (which kills bacteria) and little scrubbing beads to clear out your pores and leave your skin feeling all tingly fresh. Gentle enough to use everyday. I like the entire Acne advantage kit as well, I just like this cleanser better because it removes all my flakey skin. (the kit comes with the moisturizer below and a spot treatment. when my acne was at it's most severe (covered my entire face) I used the kit and it had cleared up 90% in a little over a month)

3. Clean & clear acne advantage moisturizer: this has salicylic acid which exfoliates your skin. I alternate with Garnier moisture rescue gel-cream for combo skin, which is a great moisturizer for the winter months, & it doesnt make my skin oily AT ALL. which is saying something.

4. Garnier skin renew over night treatment peel: exfoliates your skin overnight to reduce pimple size/swelling, but also after 6-8 weeks will remove your dark acne spots.

Look at my pictures & you'll see that my skin is great now. Even tone, glowy, and CLEAR. hope this works!

Ive been suffering from acne since I was 12/13 years old (I'm 21 now). Since a few weeks I've been trying clindamycin lotion and benzoyl peroxide hydrogel 5%. I use the lotion in the morning, before my moisturizer and the gel at night after washing my face and before moisturizer. The key word is to MOISTURIZE!!!!!! Use a neutral moisturizer in combination with these products and you will see results after 1 week of use!! Good luck!!

Ps: scrubbing your face is a no no! This is way to harsh for your skin!

Natural remedie? Oats!! Grind em up, and for every use, grab a fistful, hold your fist under Luke warm water until your oats are wet and like oatmeal juice seeps through your fingers. Then just use like regular cleanser!
