How do you get the Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse to not get cakey when applied with the applicator?

First of all, it depends on your skin type when a product reacts a certain way ( for instance, if you're oily and use some sort of product that is shiny or isn't oil free then it tends to cake quicker and if you have dry skin and use a blotting powder your skin will look like the desert!)

So I guess what I'm trying to get at is , what's your skin type? lol :)

Oh, in the summer I have oily skin and in the winter I have dry,bit or normal, and oily in the t-zone. But mostly oily skin. Also when applying foundation, do you apply dots of it to your face and pat it out or rub it out? I also think I rubbed it out. Also thanks for replying. I need alot of help with this.

I used a brush and it worked nicely enough for me.

i have oily to combination skin and it was a mess on me. it's something about the texture. i even tried it with a primer and hated it. if i did get it to look nice, it caked up or slid off a few hours later. it's just not a good product in my opinion!

If it says "matte" on the product, then will work better with oily skin. The 'dream SMOOTH mousse' is geared toward people with 'normal' to 'dry' skin because according to the product's description it's "...ultra-hydrating, cream-whipped foundation." That's probably WHY it has caked on your skin and it will continue to cake no mater what you do because you have oily skin. Sorry :( you need to try to get things that say "oil-free" and "matte" which is good for oily skin types. Hope this helps love!
