@Nina that is a GREAT idea! I'm gonna use that, thanks!!
Right now mine are in a drawer, standing inside an open case that used to fit all my polishes... but that didn't last very long.

@Angie B. That looks like it would be a great way for me to store my polishes. I have just over 200. Where did you get it?

@Nina i love your nail polish shelf. Cant wait to make my own.
Right now all of my polishes are in a travel bag. Doesn't take up much space but digging through the bag to find the polish i want is such a pain.

Nina H this is amazing! Thanks for linking! I'm definitely gonna see if I can find the stuff here in the UK to make one (or two) haha. I counted the other day and I'm at 61 polishes, which isn't a lot by any means but my drawers are filling up and no room for anymore drawers! This will be perfect if I can do it!

the idea isnt origianlly mine but i have an easy dyi way to get the look
http://berrypolished.com/
u'll need to visit a home improvement store like homedepot and maybe a craft store
u need
- wooden trim pieces between 1.5" to 2" wide... and if u ask most stores will cut the pieces to the length u need, get something cute.
- paint... u can do a solid color or get funky with it... or u can use spray paint.
- wooden braces- ( 2 for each shelf) the pieces on the bottom that will actually hold it to the wall u can find then at a home improvement store or craft store.
- hangers- u'll find them at home improvement stores... they're the tings u see on the back of mirrors of anything u hang on a wall.
- glue/ nails- depending on how i wan to attach the top(trim) piece to the braces. make sure u nails wont go through the brace or if u use glue get something heavy duty like liquid nails... its a type of construction glue. get a small amount u won't be needing much but i recommend using both.
- tape measure
- pen/pencil
- level (most smartphones will have an app u can use)
- hammer for nails
OR
- 3M command strips- make sure they are heavy duty to hold the shelf to the wall I'd only use these if u can't put nails in the wall
OK lets start...
first
- u're going to attach the braces to the trim so figure out a distance from the end of the top (trim) piece that looks good.
- take a measurement to make sure both side match, make marks to refer to when u attach the brace.
- put a small line of glue on the brace and place it on the trim. do the same for the second one.
- allow it to dry per the instruction on the glue.
second
- with 2 nails for each brace use the hammer and drive a nail through the top into the wooden brace. one nail towards
the front and one towards the back. repeat for the other brace.
Third
- PAINT! have fun with it. if u go with one color get a semi gloss interior paint, either spray paint or get a quart of paint while u're at the home improvement store. if u gonna do something a lil bit funky get paint from a craft store, u can get small amounts of a bunch of different colors, but when ur done seal it in i would use a can of spray paint, u can get a clear semi gloss. the semi gloss will be shiny but it makes it easier to clean and protects better.
- Let it dry between coats. and completely before the next step.
fourth
- attach ur hangers to the back of the wooden braces... this step is kinda hard to explain since it depends on what kind u got and how u're gonna attach it to the wall.
Fifth and Final
- hang it up, use the tape measure to get the distance between the hangers and make marks on the wall eyeball it to make them level. use the level app after u get the shelf up to make sure it is fairly level.
*TEST IT FIRST*
-put some pressure on the shelf to make sure it will hold the weight of u polish collection... u dont wanna have it collapse under the wieght and possible break the bottles from ur entire collection

Like Viola H. I use a Helmer from Ikea, which is really the only way to go once you reach a certain number of polishes (and supplies)!
