I have am extremely oily t-zone and I find it almost impossible to control. The thing I find the most annoying is the shine that appears through my foundation halfway through my day. I've been looking for a matte liquid foundation but am totally lost as to which are the best and which are a waste of my time. I have previously used Clarins Truly Matte foundation and I found it worked well but it only comes in three colours, none of which match my skin. If you have any recommendations as to what foundation I should try, your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would try the make up for ever mat velvet! And also, primer is going to be your best friend

I would use Laura mercier primer followed with laura mercier oil free foundation and then their translucent powder. If you have oily skin you will have to blot during the day (there is no way of getting out of that unfortunately). But with the above you will find that your oil is controlled and your skin will look gorgeous.

First, I would advise you to change your skincare routine and get one going that's better for your skin type and your needs. IMO, oil control is down to that, not your makeup.
Second, oil free foundation. Try a bunch (a couple of examples have been named -- another one is Revlon Colorstay (Combination/Oily)), find out which one works best for you.

I have the same issues as you. What I found to help out a lot is using Urban Decay's De-slick in a tube as a primer, and that keeps me shine-free for a really long time. Then I also use Makeup Forevers Mat Velvet + Foundation, my favorite foundation! Then I set my makeup with a powder, and then spritz Urban Decay's De-slick setting spree, and my makeup lasts me the whole day!
