I just purchased this wig off of ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/150711617535?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 and in the description it says it can be dyed and heat styled. Does anyone else have a wig that is synthetic that can be heat styled?

A lot of synthetics can just need to make sure your styling tool is on the low heat setting. I just recently started getting into wigs myself.

I have had a few synthetic wigs myself, so i would advise you to start out at a very low temp!!!!! Even if it says up to 400 degrees safe try it on low to see what happens and go up from there. You will know if it gets too hot. The hair won't necessarily burn but it will start to kind of melt, maybe shrivel and you will definitely smell it.
If you are looking for more heat resistant wigs, a very common type of fiber used is called futura

Just a warning they can be "some what" styled meaning if you have a curly wig and you straighten it, the hair will not re-curl. For straight hair do not purchase the wig if you intend on making it curly because chances are it will not hold a curl if it has been created to be straight wig. I know from experience because I own many lace front wigs and my photos have me wearing the wigs I own. :)
